Honda's Do Not Own One

I really liked what Honda was trying to do with the DN-01. I liked the styling... it's always a shock to me to remember that it's about as half as big as it looks. Also, I had completely forgotten how expensive it was. That article says $15.5K but other sources say $14.5K (both USD of course)

I remember when these came out. Honda is making another "auto" bike ... cool. I saw one "chopped"... interesting to say the least. Never really paid much attention, not my cup of tea.
The "HFT" trans caught my eye. Human Friendly Transmission. Never heard of that before
NEATO nothing new, but it took Honda to put it in a bike.

I keep hearing rumors about honda offering DCT transmission options on all their bikes alongside the traditional manual ones...

well they have 7 categories and 4 of them already offer/come in a dct/automatic.

Have yet to try slow speed maneuvers and sharp turns on a DCT.

smooth as butter.
The only complaint I have is sometimes on twisty roads, right at the apex the bike will upshift, taking you out of the powerband at the worst time. But for that they have manual mode

I might be the minority here. I like quirky rides, and I almost bought one last year (Seller ghosted me and then marked it sold)
You're not alone. I almost bought a Pacific Coast

Clutchless quickshift upshifting and downshifting wipes out the need for the mechanically-more-complex DCT. A normal transmission, plus quickshift up and down, plus an actuator for the shift rod and clutch mechanism (see e-clutch mentioned above) results in the same end-user experience. The auto industry has pretty much stopped going the DCT route.
