Does anyone know if they'll allow M2 riders on the CBR600RR, CBR1000RR, or the CB1000R?
I know for sure not the 1000RR. I e-mailed a rep that's going to be at the show, and they didn't exactly answer my question:

"Anyone with an M2 is free to demo our four wheeled vehicles."

Not sure what that means exactly.

You should be fine for anything that is not an RR.

Yup, the flyer is very specific that only RR bikes (600 and 1000) will require full M.

Oh **** that then, I might not go.

Why is Suzuki the only ones that allowed M2 riders on the sport bikes? It's not like we're all going to accidentally wheelie ourselves to death -_-

I might show up. I'll be rocking an old RC51 =)

...it doesn't say if the gymkhana event is open to all or if we're just watching "riders" run the course?

a M2 rider could have just completed the riding course the weekend beforehand. There are no objective way to know a M2 rider's skill level before he/she wheelies themselves to death.

Get your M, problem solved.

I cannot speak to this event but I used to ride everything at demo rides with only an M2. Maybe things have changed now (or just for this event specific).
Do your research or just get your M :)

Even last year 600RR was open to M2 riders. Rules are changing, Yamaha has not allowed M2 riders on R6 for at least a couple years, Honda is following the suit, I am pretty sure Suzuki will do the same soon. Like someone else said, get your M, problem solved.

I was going to go...now I am not so sure. Got my M2 back in April and put about 2000km on the CBR250R so far. I was hoping to test ride the 600, as I might be upgrading next summer, before I get my full M October 2013.

I do get the point about people who just got a M2 and hop on a demo 600, but it is too bad there wasn't some other method for deciding. I'm 30, completely clean record, and by next summer I'll likely have 10,000+ km or so on my 250, but still won't be able to try a 600, which I could buy, cash in hand if I liked it/wanted to. Also means I'd have to wait until the following summer (2014) to try a 600 with full M, meaning I can't take advantage of any winter sales, since I definitely would want to try the CBR600RRA before plunking down 13K on one.

Can't get it yet T__T

It's been a year and a month. I think it was 16 months?

I believe its 18 if you've taken a course.

Edit: 22 if you haven't.

There will be lots of other bikes that you can try there though. What could possibly be more fun than riding bikes that aren't yours even if you have no intention of ever owning one. If you've never riden a cruiser this is the perfect opportunity. I haven't seen the flyer that is referenced, but it sounds like RR is off limits, CB1000R is not an RR. Might be worth checking out, or those who ride an RR currently and want to try a 250 could do that too. I'm out of town or I'd for sure check it out.

I ride my gf's 250 once in a while, have no interest in the CBR250. I would try a Goldwing just for lulz but my eyes are on the 3 bikes I listed...=(

Maybe I'll go to just test the CB100R =(

I did a Honda demo ride last season and got to ride everything from the CBR600RR to the VFR1200. They didn't seem to concerned about it...and my bike is a 250
