Honda RC30

So looks wise they rule but would these old Hondas be any fun to ride? Anyone with experience care to compare to a newer sport bike?

I've ridden both.

They're unique, as streetbikes they are comparable to most 750 superbikes of their particular era, easily slapped around by a 2005+ 600 in outright performance.

Ownership is more for nostalgia reasons and the sounds(v4 with gear driven cams sounds like a bandsaw biting sheetmetal) than outright performance.

It's like owning a 70's muscle car, they look and sound cool but are easily spanked by modern family sedans in performance terms

Very interesting looking bike. I re-joined street/track riding again about that time and don't remember ever having seen one in the flesh.

You didnt talk about your RSV4?

In context with hoping to trade Brian for a ride on one of his Hondas, sure. But that's hardly "talking about it."

It's not in context if you leave out the part about trading so you're able to ride one of his Hondas.

;)

Can we get more pictures of the classic RC and VFR bikes please...??

Saw an RC30 for sale for 5400$ by a dealer a few months ago. It is also my dream bike. For now I'll stick with my rusty FZR400

You sure it wasn't an NC30, the 400? I saw a totally beat up RC30 up for sale recently and it was bidding over $14000. If there was one that cheap I'd be really surprised.

Also, one day I hope I can ride or own an RC30 with some HRC kit parts. RC45 is nice too but I like the RC30 better.

RC30 or RC45 for me :) saw a 45 for a pretty good price a little while ago:

I really like the look of this one

You're right it must have been the NC30. The RC30 at 5400 would be ridiculous no matter what condition. My bad.
