Honda Demo Ride

bah, has to be on a day when I'm busy. Would be nice to try out one of honda's 600's, hell even try the 250.

Awwww.... I'm working! Too bad, it would have been fun to check out an 600RR. I liked this one at the Motorcycle show

Nyx13, that's a hot CBR! Is that factory paint scheme?

I too hate the fact that I work on saturdays, and it seems like demos are always on saturdays.
Grr.
If Honda comes in the Niagara region for a demo, I am calling in sick.
Especially since I am considering the CBR600RR as a next bike.

Does anyone have more info?(what time it starts in particular) (or started?)

Ya that is factory paint.

Started at 9 - 1.

Well just got back, about 10 people showed up to demo bikes. Me and my friend were there first at 8:50 until about 9:30 when 2 more people showed up. Went out on the first ride at 10, with a CBR250 (2nd time riding it, good bike) and my friend on the CBF600. Got back at 10:30 and another 2 people were there. 6 in total now, Went out on the next ride on the CBF600 and my friend took out the CBR600. Got back at 11. More people were there now just looking inside the dealership. Ended up meeting "WheelieBoy" (stay off the cruiser lol, it dosent suit you) Free BBQ and headed out.

CBR was booked for the later rides, next time.

My wife and I were there getting our Ninja 250's serviced (S500K - I was the guy who took the CBR600 out at 10, nice chatting with you!). Really liked the 600, but was surprised at how different it feels from my 250. Still pretty docile at lower revs so would be workable around town. On the ride we didn't above 80, so no need to get out of 3rd gear, and the revs were low (5-6k) for most of it. I fought the urge to twist the wrist - anyone know what dealers do if you take a detour along the highway for a bit? :-)

Had a good time at the demo ride. I found out about it this morning and I figured that it couldnt hurt to try some bikes. The bikes I rode were:

CBR250: It seems a little down on power compared to the '93 ninja 250 I had but it handled a lot better. I dont know how it compares to the new ninja 250s, never rode it yet.

VT1300: My first time riding a cruiser, it was freaking weird! I almost dropped it the first couple of stops as I was used to leaving a foot on the footpeg when I ride. Only problem is that the footpeg is wayy in the front. There was hugee torque though, you could pick any gear and there was power on demand.

VFT1200: I was impressed with this bike. Power was very smooth and manageable at low revs. Feels light like a 600 so it took the turns at ease. I opened up the throttle in 2nd gear, once I got over 6000rpms, WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa fast! I didnt expect it at all and before I knew it, I was wayyy over the speed limit and slowed it back down.

Overall had a good time. Wish they brought out the CBR1000RR and the Goldwing. Oh well, maybe next time.
