A new motorcycle every isn't normal, is it?. The guy I bought my 650R from owned it from new, that's 5 years. I guess he bought it from new and wanted to get his $$ worth. If money is no object then I guess get two a year.

To some people, simply riding a motorcycle isn't normal - so, when it comes to opinions, there's a wide gap out there.
(This I'm sure you've noticed since signing on this site? LOL)
Whether it's out of a crate, or a year or 2 old, a 'new to me' bike is somthing I enjoy.
If money were an object, not likely too many could carry a place to live, cage and a bike, ya think?
Tossing a grand or two, or three at another bike every yr, or so, is peanuts.
I used to spend more than that a yr on smokes.

Exactly! I have never even lost my initial motorcycle cost from what I remember, cuz I have always made money on my motorcycles as I usually get them cheaper. So ya, I do it cuz i can, plus I rack up alot of mileage!
If all the hobbies you have are important to you, it will all work out.
No one is saying it's mandatory to change bikes as often as ajaxguy and I do, but that's the way we are.
I quit several habits and hobbies to be able to do what floats my boat. We're all different.

What isn't normal about that? How many car drivers do the same? Quite a few that I know. My current bike I've had the longest: 3 years. Before this bike I bought a brand new bike, then another brand new bike, then my current used bike. Maybe if you got out of that little room more and took a look around you'd see how many people change up their vehicles every year.

Yup, I'm even older and slower now. Down to a snails pace. Just off the crutches a couple days ago.

Both knees are DONE / KAPUT / FINI, and I'm done riding.

Thanks to FMJ, I got on my peddle bike.
I already had one pooched knee, but the good one blew out. Not fun.
