I bet that's the only time an HJC helmet went for a ride on a desmo
yeah why is that desmo rider wearing cheap gear?

You should be.A leisurely lap on a Desmo at Mosport would be a 1:30.That's fast.
Paying $80 G's for something because its "hand made" is just about the dumbest thing anyone can do. Couple standups havegreat bits about this kinda stuff. Its like gold sprinkles on your ice cream at a fancy restaurant. Doesn't add a single thing to the experience except the fact that you can brag to your friends, I ate gold for no reason other than I'm an rich ahole. Same for bike, does the handmadedness somehow make the bike do light speed or something? Lame. . .
I should have explained a bit further.A club member at Mosport a couple of years ago brought his never been ridden desmo out for some laps.He was into 1:30's after a couple of laps. And he did not appear to be pushing it very hard. This is a pic of him. Can't remember his name. It's lap time would not be much different than other litre bikes, which are only a second or two faster than a 600. I would argue that the person riding it would riding very conservatively.
On the other hand too, using the car analogy, there are rich guys who would rather spend their $$$ hopping up a Camaro or Corvette than buy a Ferrari F50 or McLaren F1. They'd probably end up with a faster car at the end of the day.
I think calling it a rip-off or POS makes you an idiot, but preferring or choosing to go faster with less dough doesn't. Different strokes for different folks.

Looking at Duc's and found this FML. I couldn't donate enough organs for this!!!!
They come with that stand, along with a pile of other parts. What kind of rear stand is that bike using?
Looks nice.

The Desmosedici is an outgoing model which was no longer being raced. It's effectively worthless, as all the cost in R&D was already spent and generally manufacturers don't do anything with old race bikes that would get them a return on investment. The initial cost to develop a GP bike is huge, but once the platform is developed it doesn't cost near as much to replicate the motorcycle. You think it costs Honda $2M to replace a crashed GP bike?
The Desmo is not a motoGP bike, not even close. It's the closest thing to a motoGP bike that any of us mere mortals will ride.... but it's not a motoGP bike.
The electronics on Valentino Rossi's bike are worth more than a Desmo.
