Holly ****!!!!!!

Re: Holly f***!!!!!!

Yes.

Re: Holly f***!!!!!!

this is their motogp inspired "replica".

I passed one on mosport with zx6r and street knowledge. I am very proud of that moment :)
You should be.A leisurely lap on a Desmo at Mosport would be a 1:30.That's fast.

Re: Holly f***!!!!!!

Paying $80 G's for something because its "hand made" is just about the dumbest thing anyone can do. Couple standups havegreat bits about this kinda stuff. Its like gold sprinkles on your ice cream at a fancy restaurant. Doesn't add a single thing to the experience except the fact that you can brag to your friends, I ate gold for no reason other than I'm an rich ahole. Same for bike, does the handmadedness somehow make the bike do light speed or something? Lame. . .

I feel ya bud, it doesn't make sense to pay so much. Although, some people appreciate attention to detail and the hard work put into creating something. It's the value attached to something that makes it more appealing, and sometimes it's just about the process. ex: Italian shoes/suits.
I saw a video on how Bentley made their cars - same thing. All hand made from highly experienced Bentley mechanics who are meticulous about detail. They couldn't even afford a small error on welding a part together. Everything has to be perfect. And that's what the customer expects.

Re: Holly f***!!!!!!

Wow. Philistines who have no idea what goes into a MotoGP bike, and what it's actually worth.

Re: Holly f***!!!!!!

I am far from a Ducati fan, but I can appreciate the technology and craftsmanship that is in that bike.. If you know anything about CNC machining, you would be impressed with the 3D surfacing that goes into the rearsets alone on that bike...The carbon bodywork is amazing quality (Ive seen mint set selling for $10,000 online), and the exhaust system is also very impressive to look at...

These are not cast like you would find on your average and even high end sport bikes, these are 3D machined out of solid billet...

Bottom line that is the closest thing to a road legal MotoGP bike that can be bought off a showroom floor, that kind of technology and hand made craftsmanship is not going to be cheap!

Re: Holly f***!!!!!!

Maybe a lot of those reading don't realize this is Ducati's only V4 offering...
It has the unique MotoGP motor config so, you've gotta pay big if you want one of these!
There's a guy in Woodbridge who owns one and putts around north GTA on it.
He fired it up for my ears, and I gave throttle blippage (in neutral heheh) which is prob as bloody close as I'll ever get to riding!
The sound though; the music was unreal...
And not much flywheel there - it caught revs like a CBX.
I actually couldn't enjoy riding that, it's just too-too expensive!
But does sound amazing.

Re: Holly f***!!!!!!

Johnny is right. If you take the time to get real close to one of them, you'll see the build quality and craftsmanship is unreal. The wheels aren't "like" the wheels on a gp bike. They are the wheels!Same goes for most of the bike. And the sound with the full race exhaust (which comes with it) is unreal,
Bigtime repost.But i just love this vid.SEXY!

Misleading title.
I thought you were banging my ex, Holly. :agave:

The thing is you have to know what your looking at to appreciate the parts....Majority of people would now know the rearsets are perfectly 3D machined, and would mistake them for cast parts...And same goes for other high end components like the Ohlins forks, R&T Ohlins can be had for $2000-3000, but how many people know the MotoGP FG353 pressurized forks on that bike are around $8,000+ alone...Just suspension and brakes alone on that bike and your in the $15,000-20,000 range...
