OMG! That model+year was my first bike. Rode to Seattle and back on it (and Newfoundland too). Loved that bike.
A month or 2 ago, I saw a red one just like mine parked in Liberty Village. Snapped a bunch of photos for memory sake (no digital cameras back then). Is this yours?

and thanks for all the responses. The guy ended up sending me the money after a few days of back and forth, but it was definitely not a great situation. Going forward I am following standard procedure for accidents no matter what, I am very relieved to have gotten any money out of this at all.

Good to hear you got $$$. Always go the proper route initially by getting insurance info, etc. If they want to pay out of pocket, fine, 24 hrs to pay or you go thru the insurance with the info you got at the scene.
