Hey guys ... was involved in a hit and run where a salting truck hit my parked car at a gas station and than drove off.
Got the videos and image but cant seem to make out the company name on the side of the truck or the number plate.
If any one can enhance the image for me to extract any information it would be of great help.
Also would my insurance go up if I claim it considering I have proof that I was not at fault ?
Please follow the link for the image cant seem to post it here.

You can't get something from nothing. That particular image is useless.

Is there a wider view of the truck with maybe a logo or something?

Well I have a video but the logo isn't visible I mean it's gas station cameras so I don't think it would be any better. I can maybe pm you the video b you can see if anything can be done to enhance it. The cops have the video and are trying to see what they can do but no guarentee.

Do you have on video the truck hitting your car?
If so what more proof does the insurance company need from you? You showed them a Truck hit your car and they can figure out the rest.

If the truck can be identified, then the OP is off the hook for his damage deductible. If not, he has to pay the deductible. Either way, his insurance rates would not be affected by an easily verifiable hit and run that was reported to police.

If you're dead set on identifying the truck you could try hanging out there every day around the same time and watching traffic.

Makes sense, I assumed it wouldn't affect his rates but forgot about the deductible.

The truck was not salting. I run the gas station do I have all the video etc but can't identify the truck. Will be looking out for it though. If I show proof that the car was parked I didn't think I had to pay a deductible. Oh boy if I do it sucks $500 for Parking the car :(

Probably already considered, but since you run the station and have access to the records, did the truck buy anything or was it just taking a shortcut through your lot?

Doesn't matter if the car is parked or not, if the third party can not be identified you need to pay the collision deductible.

LOL... picture is useless bro! useless!

The picture is not useless if someone has a small amount of external info. License plate is not very useful, but stylized text for business name, 2 black lines of text and a red line are quite distinctive. If someone recognizes the business, it would be relatively easy to get it down to a single vehicle (worst case, just wait at the company lot on snowy days for him to come and get salt).

OP, do you have any good pictures of the salter? They are a lot less common than a Chev pickup, maybe that is another avenue to pursue to try to track down the owner (ie. maybe only two companies in the GTA bought that model of salter). I doubt the distributor would give you names, but they may contact their customers (and send them the picture). If I was the owner of the company that hit you, I'd damn well want to know that my drivers were doing hit and runs as I could be sucked into the legal mess afterwards.

OP what city was this in?

Group ride there in spring? If there's a timmies there

How bout a cross reference around the time of the incident to who was getting gas at or near that time.

But that would involve the police, and a whole lot of time involved too. Credit card charges, or bank account info ..
