Hey guys.. Have you noticed the pricing model that hindle has for their cans... I just notied today that they charge the same for their cans regardless of their size.. So the poor bastard who buys a 14" and has less material used in his can then the 20" pays the same!...

And the prices of their slip on adaptors, redonkuless!!

Ok.. I feel better now for getting that off my chest!.

It's not like a few extra inches of aluminum/cf/titanium would make a significant cost difference when they buy that material in bulk. I imagine the bulk of the expense goes into R&D, and then actual manufacturing of the cans, as well as fancy endcaps, clamps, and guts.

I think that all exhausts are too expensive but I have a feeling that it's mostly just jealousy because I have a stupid, far too quiet stock exhaust.

if all you want it is sound.....two options:

1 . Remove baffles from stock exhaust
2. buy cheap china crap.

Meh. I'm not going to keep this bike forever So it'll be easier to sell with a proper exhaust. I'll look into a nice exhaust for my next bike. Doesn't mean that I don't get a little jealous when I hear a TBR or Hindle wound out.

wait til you have kids and have to pay for their stuff. Try to justify THAT.

I agree with all of this except perhaps the R&D. Come to think of it, I'd say the quality isn't on par with other competing products. So in the final analysis, I'd say the bulk of the expense goes into someone's pocket. But that's just my opinion. Yours may be different.

The bulk of any expense goes into someone's pocket at the end of the day. He is totally right about what he said, the material differneces cost wise are likely so minimal that it doesn't matter. Also whether you think their product is good or not has nothing to do with there being an R&D team. Perhaps the team isn't doing as well as you'd like, but you can bet they exist and are highly compensated engineers.

U get what you pay for, My uncle has put a lot of years of work into his company and his products speak for themselves. :D

I haven't seen a Hindle can up close in probably 6+ years...but what I saw back then wasn't very impressive. They looked like bargain-bin mufflers for budget-minded riders.

Maybe that's changed recently? How are their prices these days? Still cheaper than the big names in the business?

Prices are on par with other major brands...

The mid pipe adaptor for the 919 consist of two 9"longx2"dia pipes, four holding springs and a couple of clamps, and they want $299.99, and then the cans are $299 each in my case since I have two, so they are up there!

They may R&D their full systems, but I do not believe they do any specific R&D on their slip ons as how much true R&D is involved in fabing up a 9" pipe with a slight bend in it! and their CANs for the slip ons are off the shelf…

there are lots of other makers out there that you can buy a slip on from.....mabey even make your own? then you could put your own R&D in to it

The Hindle on my 08 track bike is a full system, quality seems pretty good to me. Better in some ways to the Arata on my 05.

No complaints with Hindle here.
Emails were always answered quickly.
A rivet fell out and they sent a whole bag of them free of charge.
The Titanium sticker on the side started to peel off, and new one was sent free of charge even though I specifically told them it was my own fault by using brake cleaner to get some road tar off and I would pay for it.
Silencer was easy to dissassemble and repack as well.
Plus, they're a Ontario Company and support local racing.
I'd definitely buy another one.

I've had 4 Hindle Exhausts over the past few years on various bikes. I've never had a problem with them. Love the sound and quality of the product.

Costs are in the labor and machining, not the material. An extra couple inches of aluminum sheet isn't too expensive.

Support Canadian motorcycle & racing industry!!

I will continue to purchase Hindle products in the future. I would probably grab the Alien Head exhaust if it didn't actually say Alien head on the exhaust nameplate. Thats a little tacky.
