Highway 60 Through Algonquin Park

Still lots of sand on the road....We need a good rain or a good street brushing. I would hold off for a few weeks.......

I know this is an old thread, but here is what I saw on HWY 60 the past weekend a year ago:

When the large bull moose look for ladies. You and your bike become target practice

Yep they will charge anything that looks like a threat.
Moose are actually the most dangerous animal in Canada, that's a fact.

Really !!!

Well, I wouldn't try to go pet the thing, but I wouldn't encounter with worries lol

Thanks for the info =)

Saw three moose on my easter sunday ride thru the park. Lots of sand between huntsville and the park on hwy60 but the park has very little road sand.

Does anyone have a route for Algonquin, leaving from Toronto looking for some scenic stops while we're there, the lookout point sounds good, some hiking would be nice as well and maybe renting a canoe or something to get out on one of the lakes?

I was up that way last weekend and the black flies are just starting to come out. I wouldn't plan stopping and do any adventuring now or for the next 3 weeks or so. (they'll pick you up and carry you away). Algonquin Park outfitters rent canoes and will even deliver to your camp site if requested.

Just came back from working the last 3 days from Parry Sound to a little north of Sudbury. I didn't experience it but the locals are raving about how bad the black flies are this year. Luckily I stayed in built up areas..they tend to be more near the trees and water.

are 250cc ok on your ride to algonquin? cuz if so I'll look for it when it comes up...
