Well I showed off my noobiness in full swing last night... Was riding on a dark road that seemed pretty straight and wide then all of a sudden a hard left came up. I was going too fast for it and used too much rear brake so I ended up highsiding at about 60km/h.
Came out pretty well, no head injury, few scrapes on my elbow and knee, sprained ankle and i hurt my hip but thats about it. Thankfully i was wearing my gear.

Bike came out pretty decent too, few scrapes on the muffler, front brake lever, mirror, scraped up and cracked right fairing and TOTALLY broken right rearset. Mostly cosmetic though which is good.

Now does anyone know where i can get a OEM right rear set for cheap? I might go with a whole new aftermarket set if the OEMs are too expensive. Rest is just cosmetic and wont need replacing.

+1

yes glad you're ok. I don't envy that nauseous feeling that is probably still in your stomach. Would love the coordinates so that we can see what to watch out for.

Good for you on your attitude and surviving what could have been a much more severe incident.
I love riding at night but only boogie on roads I know well.....play tourist on new ones.
Were you outriding your headlight range perhaps??

Front brakes really are your friend ;)

where were you riding at ? i can't think of any turns that jump out at you ...

Perhaps just me but it looks like a residential street ?

Glad you made it through Rohan.
I've always had good luck with rearsets and that stuff on ebay. replaced a few on my bikes, either to upgrade, or to replace a broken one due to my own noobness. Aftermarket ones are always less expensive that NEW oem. I bought a set of Gillies fully adjustable rearsets for a previous bike and still had cash left over to buy some extra goodies.

Care to explain your blind curve front brake technique? :notworthy:

OP- Glad you walked away with minor injuries, just have the bike looked over by a professional to make sure everything is still intact and operating the way it should be.
GWS!

Always a fun moment when you realize your going in to fast for a corner. I guess I could suggest using your high beams more often at night? Hope you can get back on the road soon.

Yeah it's called both brakes hard the minute you know you have an unexpected issue assuming pavement is the game.
Don't outride your lights and in slow out fast on corners. He had it all *** backwards and got in trouble for it - luckily with little consequence of note.
He's up front enough to acknowledge where it went south.
He stated quite clearly

. I was going too fast for it and used too much rear brake

do pay attention to the topic.

good idea - could be somethings off not immediately evident.

hope you're able to get your bike patched up soon. Glad you're ok!
experience is a hard teacher.

There is a guy on eBay from Thailand that sells OEM Kawi parts with the username asianconnection71. He usually deals with 650R parts but can get OEM parts for any Kawi sold there. The 250R is available there so he should be able to get parts for it. In my experience his prices are 1/3 to 1/2 the Canadian dealer price including shipping and they arrived within a couple weeks. You could try shooting him a message for some parts if you're not in too much of a rush but the 250R is pretty popular so you can probably find used parts for cheaper.

I believe every Ninja250 sold worldwide is manufactured there...

Probably. 650R's and Versys as well I think (for the 09 and up models anyway). That's probably why the parts are so much cheaper.
