High revs sputter on a gixxer

For reals? K gotta cancel my appointment with BPS and check for my self first.
I am not telling you what to do but many people have spent a lot of money on dealers by changing anything from the tps sensor to the ecu to at the end not finding a cause, if it is under warranty knock yourself out, if it isn't then wait until the weather warms up and the problem should go away

this is just my opinion and by experience, I am not a mechanic, not even close to it

Yeah no problem. Its my first full season with the Gsxr so gotta take it one step at a time. I'm going to cancel my appt with the dealer and start from the cheapest fixes and when I'm all out of ideas then get the pros to look at it. At least I could scratch a few possible problem off the list.

I appreciate all the advice of possible faults and will look into all of them

Dump the old gas and throw it in your car, put in fresh stuff.
Take out them old spark plugs and put a fresh set in. See if that clears it up.

My FZ6 requires new plugs each spring, no matter how I store the bike.
It runs "fine". The first year, I really fogged the engine so after I burned out the fogging it needed new plugs.
Last year it had a bit of a sputter mid range that cleared up after it got run for a few minutes, but I still threw in new plugs, it's just something I do every spring.

Plugs always look good. Golden brown tip so it's running right.
My yzf250 gets a new plug about 4 times a season. Even if it's running fine.

Very odd! It shouldn't need new plugs every spring. Plugs don't go bad due to the cold

I'll hazard a guess and say the foggin oil is fouling his plugs

have you tested the battery or the alternator output??

high rpm misfire is a pretty good indication of a problem with one of them.

stupid question but did you go though a full gas tank yet and fill up with fresh gas?

old gas with a lot of fuel stabilizer may cause what you are describing. I hate the first tank after taking the bike out of storage. The bike does not perform well at all.

Have the same symptoms on 02 gixxer 1000, will not rev over 6000 rpm. Starts good runs good just seems like it has a rev limiter and won't rev over 6000k.
Will post back when i replace old gas.
thanks

All is good now. Must of been old gas as it runs like a champ
Bet you that next November when it gets cold again, you will have the same issue.

Don't think so cuz I take my bike to work at 3am and its still single digit temps.
