This is the logistics I’m trying to figure out for my trip out there this summer - not only do I have to bring all my own gear and clothing of course, but also my wife’s gear, including her helmet. And she has to pack light enough for her flight out (she’s meeting me in Edmonton, we have family there) so that it also all fits on the bike for the 1.5 weeks in BC together before I drop her off in Calgary for her flight home.
I have quite a bit of storage space, but there are limits.
My first and second trip to BC I packed too much... I even had a rifle with me to use on an anticipated stop in Sask. for some gopher shootin'.
Both trips I ended up paring down my luggage and mailing the excess home from BC.
Since I don't camp anymore it saves a lot on luggage.
No need to pack glass long stem wine glasses and a linen table cloth.
It was nice to be able to "one-up" the people in the next site with a big motorhome.
Camping "sounds" nice, but it's a lot of work after a long day in the saddle.
I'll do it for the novelty, but if the weather looks like it's going to be wet... F*** it I'm on my phone booking a room somewhere.
