Help!

Hi there,

I'm hoping someone on this thread can help. I work on a tv series that focuses on the provenance of men's clothing. We're looking to shoot a segment with a Toronto local that builds custom, vintage motorcycle jackets. What I'm looking for is a cool location to shoot the segment. The agency suggested a club that builds 50's style cafe racers...apparently this type of club is popular in LA...not sure if any exist up here. Otherwise it could be anything. Ideally it would have a vintage feel about it...maybe some bikes and bikers in the background or some biker fashion. Could be a bar, club, garage, retail store....something like that. Can anyone point me in a direction in the GTA??? A cool shop...anything like that??

Thanks,

Tee Schneider

Not quite exactly what you're looking for, but there's a fantastic burned out building in Elora (70km west of Toronto) that's open to the sky that is great for shoots. Taken many shots of bikes there. It's super easy to find, right along the river.
Any local can tell you exactly where it's at. Has a big smokestack for easy finding in the "skyline" as it is.

edit-also maybe look into doc's leathers on queen ,haven't been there in years but he used to carry a lot of vintage stuff

locO leoN is one of the founders. As is Tim but I don't know his handle on there. They are both in Toronto and can help you. Retro Grouch knows them and hes on here and there. He can be a big help as well.

There's a shop on Ossington called Town Moto and another on College called Motoretta. I came across both of these online at blog.to but have never physically been. I don't know if they make their own gear but they seem to fit genre you're looking for.

+1 for town moto, was on the way home and saw 15+ vintage style bikes parked on the street and I had to check it out. Nice peoples :)
