help with arai helmets

I struggled for a long time trying to decide between a L and an XL Signet-Q. The L and XL are two different shell sizes, so the size difference feels enormous between the two.

In the end, I went with the L and bought the slightly thinner comfort liner (5mm vs. the stock 7mm). I would've needed thicker cheekpads if I'd gone with the XL, and I hated the fishbowl effect of the XL helmet over my otherwise L-sized body.

YMMV, but helmets loosen up quite a bit with regular use, so I'd go with the one that's slightly uncomfortable now.

Try on a RPHA10 from HJC. It's their top of the line one and I prefer it over my Arai for fit, weight and air flow. The fit similar to the Arai's.

i ended up buying that shark race r pro, matte black carbon. the reviews were all really good on it, good weight, air flow, and it drowns out the road noise quite well. i grabbed it online from STG, 730 cdn shipped to my mail box. i emailed gpbikes early this morning and called jsut after 9, they didnt get back to me, i called at 1130 and they still hadnt heard from their supplier, finally got an email back t like 4 pm saying it was 800 plus taxes for the same one from there. by then i had already ordered this one but that much of a price jump was enough for me to buy online. i figure 30 - 40 bucks or so and id buy it locally. but assuming i dont get hit with taxes at the border it works out to be about 180 bucks cheaper to buy online. thanks for the help guys and the suggestions, up until now i wasnt sure if shark was available anymore, i know they had vanished for a while in north america
