Help transporting a motorcycle

Im buying my first bike(ninja 250 2010), and found a good deal up in north bay(im from Mississauga). Would anyone know any good companies that delivers motorcycles? I had a quote for 400$ but that is a little much for me. I could also go with a friend and ride it myself, but a 300km ride back on a bike Ive never even sat on yet might be a little too risky because I dont have too much experience. Would anyone also know someone I can pay to come up with me and ride it back? Any suggestions would help.

700+ km round trip which you're looking probably over 8 hours $400 doesn't sound too bad when you factor labour, fuel and wear and tear into it.

$400? Thats ridiculous! There's no reason that someone can't donate their entire saturday + fuel and wear and tear for a cup of coffee and some timbits. People these days i tell you...

And the thing about riding it back, you're gonna have insurance and ownership changed over? What if the person crashes?

$400 might seem high, but once you factor fuel + Insurance + wear and tear etc. you are saving about $100.

I don't mean this in a condescending way at all, but motorcycles are a leisure toy and $100 should not be a factor if you plan on owning one!

There's no reason you couldn't do it for 10 an hour, CASH BRO! :lmao:

This thread reminds me of the state of heavy truck transportation in brampton, where guys are wanting to hire a tractor trailer and driver, along with insurance for $40-$45 an hour, meanwhile the truck burns $40-$50 of diesel per hour alone :lmao:

$400 is LOW!!! Go with who ever quoted that.....as long as they will hold firm at $400 and there aren't any surcharges.

$400 without surcharges is low, how much were you hoping to spend?

Miker313 is this bike at a dealership? I might be able to HELP you, depending on pickup times. If this can be done on Sunday or even Monday, I might be able to fit it in. Anyone with an actual business is going to need $400-$600 to make it feasible for them, but I hear you asking for help from fellow motorcycle enthusiasts. Good idea. Check your pm. BTW if you ask your buddies for help with anything in life, and they tell you to f--- off, you need new buddies! Just sayin...

you can do this yourself. rent a u-haul ($20). take some parts off the bike for it to fit and tie it down. i've done this. it's possible. why spend more money then you need to? p.s. don't forget your tools and a solid piece of wood. transport at your own risk though.

20 for rental 49 cents per km thats what 343 $ ? :lmao:
69 cents per km if you want the enclosed 10 foot truck so you can load it yourself, so that would be 483 plus tax ofcourse

Oh and don't forget fuel and insurance...

That 400 sounds like a pretty good deal right about now...

didn't notice the north bay part :/ ya 400 sounds about right...all this for a 250? there no 250's for sale in the GTA? it must be love at first sight..or borrow someones minivan or truck.

Now imagine if he gets there and the bike is sketchy cause the owner wasnt honest? :lmao:

then it's not the owners fault. its the op's for not doing there homework. nevermind he's never ridden it yet which is of more concern
