So I am a newbie female rider and I have posted on here before (without any success, sorry)

I would prefer another female rider - since male riders seriously are unreliable, dont want to put the extra mile .... yeah, I guess I could pay someone but I need to know how to do this myself and cant rely on people for basic maintenance of a bike.

I am trying to winterize my bike - a guy looked at it, told me I have to lube the chain, and change the oil, buy a battery tender, get the oil, etc.

So, is there ANYONE who can teach me how to do this? (change the oil, show me how the battery is removed, etc) you dont even have to lift a finger cuz I want to do it all myself and really looking for someone to stand there, and make sure Im doing it correctly

I live in Markham at 14th and 9th line and want to do this soon as the weather is getting cold

For your time, I would be more than happy to get you a case of beer of whatever choice you want lol ... message me

Just put stabil in the tank run bike for 5 mins, lube the chain, fill the tires up, clean the bike with a spray and wipe detailer and put the battery tender on with clips to the positive and negative. Good enough. I got 7 vehicles sleeping and that's all I did. You don't need to do all that other crap like people say

Courage just be careful you don't have some creep over to your place you never know who you are meeting on the internet.

Also. have you tried Youtube? i'm new too and i have learned how to do lots of basic maintenance things from searching youtube, including all the things you mentioned wanting to do. There are tons of good instructional vids on there. I'm changing my own tires in a couple of weeks based on vids i watched there, looks easy. I just bring my laptop out to my garage when i'm working on my bike and can watch the vids as i work.

You bring a 6pk of Dab, I'll bring the tools =)
BTW, if you're interested, I'm also going to be storing a friends bike in my garage and will be needing to do the winterizing on his bike and on mine. How 'bout we make it a threesome!
...oh, hope that didn't come out wrong XD

Msg me if you're interested in either option =)
PS, what do you ride?

Yes youtube can help quite a bit, try watching a couple of videos prior to doing the job... all summer id watch a certain tutorialsover and over until I couldnt wait to wake up the next day and do it.... with a pretty high sucess rate.

hahaha youre not getting much more help from us this time :) sorry

saying youtube is all fine and dandy, but why not be helpful and actually post up some links for the lass...i hate it when someone says google it, cuz sometimes i don't wanna rifle through 50 links to find the one thread of info that might be somewhat useful...

as for me, i lube chain, drop a little stabil in the tank and run for a few minutes, will actually use a battery tender this year (you can get ones that have the leads to the battery accessible by a simple plug rather than taking half the bike apart), and possibly put a cover on it to keep the dust off...oh and change the oil...

unfortunately, i don't have links for you but i won't ask you to youtube or google it either...when you are at the garage next, bring some timbits and a medium double double and the mechanic will tell you everything you want to know...and i know you'll trust the mechanic more than us lot...

I recently did all that on my '09 250r, learned it all off youtube. If you also have a ninja 250r, I wouldnt mind helping you out since I've recently done it all on my own bike. Not hard at all but can be a bit intimidating if you're worried about screwing it up.

lube the chain with gear oil and seafoam in the tank. go for a quick spin (a ride literally around the block for me is about 10km). dunno what kind of bike you have but make sure the bike is NOT running when you lube the chain.

there are probably manuals for your bike online, the owner's manual should tell you how to remove the battery. also every bike is different. i learned how to change the oil on my first bike by taking pics under the bike and sending them to banger and she told me what to do...

Which part of it wasn't successful? I offered to help you out, pm'd you all you need to know to winterize your bike. I even offered going out of my way to show you how some stuff is done but you rejected my offer and pretty much told me to F off. I apologize if i come off as rude or bitter but after you told me that you don't associate yourself with anyone that's not your age i felt like I was forcing you to let me help you, so again, what else do you still need that's not already available on youtube?

Translation: I want someone to work on my bike for free. Been there, done that, a few times. Not doing it anymore.
