Welcome to the group. Insurance will depend on your age, the bike and in some cases your driving experience. I am an experienced driver and just got my M1 and waiting out the 60 days for M2. I picked up a Ninja 250 and it is $713 for the year. I hear State Farm is a good choice. I went with Riders Plus. Shop around for insurance first and if you are comfortable with the quotes then look for your first ride.

Best of luck.

Go sit on some bikes to see how they feel, and better if you can take someone's GSXR or 250 out for a spin around the block that would be best.

I rode a friend's 250 and though it was quite nimble, didn't like it much.

Thats a good idea. I am really hesitating on the 250.....I know a couple of girls who got right on 600cc and they were smaller than me, they loved it!

Hello xflying and reaperrider. :)

really only 600cc, im telling you , get a hayabusa ; you will love it , its the best beginners bike for ur size , u will get bored in a week on 600cc... see those girls are smaller than you , so u need to get a bigger bike than them for your size ... right guys? im right ? yes :)....

Hello xflying and reaperrider. :)

Ride both and decide on your own. You're an adult and know your abilities better than anyone else.

BTW do you have any experience on dirt bikes ?

When i started riding a long time ago i rode a 250 and laughed, my car was faster than the 250. Got a 600 for my first bike against all the "professional" advice haha

valerie , dont listen to stupid professionals , they dont know what they are talking about , u need a big 1300cc hayabusa for ur size. smaller than hayabusa will feel like a joke , u should start with hayabusa , first bike first love...its the best ... :):)

I have little dirt bike experience, something I want to also get into! :)

The more you ride dirt the better you'll be on the street. I lost track of how many times i have seen people hit a tiny bit of gravel or sand and panic, dump the bike or come close, meanwhile they could have easily recovered. Majority of people i have encountered dont even use the rear brake for a fear of locking up, meanwhile on the dirt people do this for fun lol

haha, really 600cc is all I need for now....:) Besides.....how big do you think I am!! lol

u will get bored on 600cc in a week , u need bigger bike ...at least 1000cc, so u can enjoy it for long time , for u hayabusa is right size :). i dont know how big u are , maybe posting some pics would help ;)....

250 is like a dodge neon

600 is like a ferrari

1000 is like a ferrari that has fallen off a cliff lol
