Hi everyone

New member, happy to have found the forum. Currently returning to riding after a 25-year break, taking M1 + safety course next week, looking at bikes and trying to sort out M1 insurance (not easy!).

First bike was an '83 Virago, hence the name. Looking at the Honda SCL500 lately. Also love music and playing guitar. 🍻

Welcome - did not know the SCL500 and now I want one :D
Good choice. Great time of year to get started.
Try Chris to untangle insurance...took care of me for decades and he is a rider

Hello. A small group from here has been known to do burger nights in KW...maybe you'll join us.

Yes, the SCL is a cool looking bike! I’m also looking into a Husqvarna 401.

Thanks for the insurance reference, much appreciated. It’s going well with Co-operators so far, who I also found here.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. I bought a SCL500 yesterday, got my M1 today, have the safety course this weekend and pick the bike up next week. Also have insurance lined up with Desjardins, thanks to this forum, much appreciated.

Looking forward to getting out there next week!

Welcome to the forum.
Now that I saw one (online) I like the SCL500.
Did you buy brand new?

Did you take the Learning Curves school?
If so, who were your instructors?

It’s amazing how quickly rust builds on skills…. Always good to practice a bunch a the beginning of each season.

So I've been having a great time on the SCL500! I'm at 3000 km in two weeks.

Last week I did the Ride The Highlands "Fall Loop" in Hailburton & Algonquin area. Loved it! I've never been on roads like that with a bike and had an absolute blast.

Next week I'm going back to either try it again or find a different one. Also going to try motocamping for a couple nights at Algonquin (AirBnB'd on the last one).

Here's a pic from Haliburton.
