I'm assuming cuz I didn't see it happen but a silver minivan has knocked the Kawi over and the Yami is holding it up.

If either of you want to try and claim anything PM me for pics. I have the minivans plate. It had a handicap decal too but no front plate.

I would definitely forward the pics and and license plate of the minivan and both bikes (If you got them) to the police in case they report it and are not on here.

Good job though. :D

If you didn't see it happen how do you figure its the minivan?

Agreed....great that you posted but unless you actually saw this minivan do it that's a dicey accusation. You may be getting a totally innocent driver in trouble.

Hence the disclaimer up front of assumtion. My assumption was based on the way it was parked doing its best to fit in between the sign defining the parking zone and the Kawi. It was also based on the closeness to the bike. If it had still be resting on the kickstand the front bumper of the minivan would have been inside the engine of the Kawi. My intent was mostly to let someone right their bike before it gets badly damaged. People sure are quick to jump on me for trying to help out, I'll be sure to keep walking with my head down next time sir.

ya what's wrong with you guys.

i park at the exact same place and i would definitely appreciate someone like the OP to let me know asap what happened to my bike. i actually got so scared for one second cuz i just saw "...knocked...red kawi..." and then i read it wasn't my model. I was glad that it wasnt my bike but i feel bad for the owner.

I understand the whole "the driver could be innocent" argument but OP was trying to help and inform the owner of the bike, and he already said he was assuming so i'm not sure what he said or did exactly was wrong here. please enlighten me.

dont we have something called "reasonable doubt"? But anyways let's just forget about the technicality for one second here please.

Props to you for helping and that you were quick enough to get the plate number.

btw OP, is your bike in yellow?

EDIT: NVM. I guess yours is red... just saw your avatar pic...

its wrong to ask why the OP assumed it was that minivan? ya ok

its a completely reasonable question.

Wow what a great day to go golfing instead of going to work. I wasn't parked there today. The silver minivan with the handicap sticker is there every day, and he's usually there pretty early.
He will likely argue that he was parked first, the bike was too close, and he didn't knock it down and cause damage anyway. There are often bikes parked very close to his bumper. But if he parked while the bikes were already there, that would be entirely different, wouldn't it.
I hope that's true, that there is no damage

We all know how some on this forum are ready to kill, hurt, injure, beat to **** anyone that comes near their bike. Then someone says it 'may have been a white van with this plate' and the bike owner goes after said van driver claiming someone saw them hit their bike. Sorry but people will hear what they want to hear when they're ****** about their damaged property.

So I don't think it's unreasonable to question what was and wasn't seen. I'm glad the op saw and reported I just don't want the owner of the bike to take away that it HAD to be that van and do their own payback. Not saying its innocent btw either. I've seen many bikes in the city park so close to cars because they can squeeze those 2 inches on either side...what does the car driver do then? Move the bike? Hit the bike? Or wait for hours for the nice considerate rider to return and let him out? It's sad to see some riders have some sense of entitlement that because they ride they're above the rules and the laws that cars have to abide by and everyone else is stupid, and don't know what they're doing.

my friends 600rr got hit while parked this summer...and it wasnt cheap.
i would consider any tips valuable, maybe this van is a dead end lead, but maybe they saw something, or maybe they hit it.
maybe there is a traffic camera and it got the van hitting it but not its plate.
