Headed to the Cottage

Have a great weekend everyone.

The party started a couple hours ago at the air b n b 3 doors down. Cops will be there soon, again.

Day three of pouring rain in cottage country . I really miss mine .

Day 4- clear sky, quiet lake, great friends.

Only issue is the fire ban, whomp whomp

Propane fire pit so easy but not quite as nice. Bonus everything doesn't stink the next day.

Many fire ban areas specifically banned those too. And charcoal bbqs. And chimneas. They are pretty comprehensive.

Strange almost every fire ban I have seen show propane fire pits as being allowed.

Fire ban in Ontario means no open flame - the only exception is a propane or alcohol stove with a cover for cooking and heating. You can have fires in campgrounds in supplied fire pits unless locally restricted.

You can use gas BBQ, but not charcoal or wood unless it's at your personal residence.

Varies by municipality. Need to check the local municipality.

"Complete Fire Ban for all of Haliburton County
No outdoor fires of any kind! The ban includes campfires, bonfires, fireworks, charcoal BBQs, outdoor candles and lanterns, Tiki torches, propane fire pits, chimineas and the burning of leaves or brush."

I'd take issue with "stink". I prefer to say "has that wonderful campfire aroma".
