Having difficulty changing gears?

On my Kawi for some reason when I shift to 2nd it drops down to neutral after a few seconds.

Doesn't happen often but it always scares the **** out of me.

Probably my fault too.

Kawi & second gear, lol. I'll leave my comments to myself.

Something is wrong with your transmission. You're gonna lose 2nd soon

I'll probably have it checked out at some point in the near future but I'm fairly certain it's me not shifting to second properly on the rare occasions it happens. Bought the bike at 700km last year and it was happening back then too, It happens maybe once every other week to once a month and I ride it every day, rain or shine. Drove it all the way to December 1st and pulled it out a bit before April. :D

Maybe you're right though.

I already stir up too much sht here. Its goona cause a huge debate & I'm not in the mood for that.

Make sure you slam the gear firmly when shifting from 1st to 2nd

How much throttle (not what RPM) do you use before shift up from 1st gear to 2nd? I was looking at 5EB R6 and I was told by a seller that wide open throttle shifts from first to second round off the gear quickly and to a lesser extent downshifting while breaking hard without fully disengaging clutch and just letting go off clutch lever so it slams back into engage position. I'm not sure if its just the first gen r6 but it all generally sounds harsh on a transmission. Though I suppose they are overdeveloped compared to cars.

After the gear is rounded, it and slip back into neutral while riding in it and a few guys on their for sale that I've contacted say they just skip 2nd and go into 3rd.

Happens to people who don't know how to ride their R6...

I have to say I don't really know, like it said it doesn't happen very frequently but I don't think I ever really go wide open throttle unless I'm already in 6th on the highway.

You should. Hopefully he's not on dunlops too or he/she will never make it

Don't "slam" the bike into second, it only needs a firm lift on the lever. Your probably just being too gentle on the shifter, 1-2 needs a little more pressure to pass through N properly. If you have to "slam" it the damage is done from "slamming" it in the first place.
