Has the city lost it's mind...

It's always a conspiracy... until it's not.
Want to slow the talk of a controversial action? Call it a conspiracy theory. You don't even need to hide the evidence.
Sure. Let's talk in a few years. I'll buy you a beer if it turns out you're right.

From 15-minute city - Wikipedia

"The 15-minute city (FMC or 15mC) is an urban planning concept in which most daily necessities and services, such as work, shopping, education, healthcare, and leisure can be easily reached by a 15-minute walk or bike ride from any point in the city. This approach aims to reduce car dependency, promote healthy and sustainable living, and improve wellbeing and quality of life for city dwellers."

From the City of Toronto Bloor St. bike lane documents presentation:

They are definitely pushing for a 15 minute city. The motive behind that is subject to debate, but the concept is definitely guiding many urban planning decisions.

I agree and profoundly disagree at the same time. They like to talk about 15 minute cities. Urban planning and zoning haven't changed much over the last decades. The plans may have a few paths added through a conventional fabric. Still lots of dead inside corners that kill walking by forcing you to go all the way around. Hell, I haven't even seen a plan in decades with an internal corner store or commercial. They are all at one edge and very far from the houses at the far side.

So, if Youtube is censoring, as is claimed by most people, but you could access the censored videos from another site, let's say Rumble, then what do you think the ones doing the censoring would say about Rumble?

I would think that there are literally thousands of places where I could post my content without censorship and I would avoid posting on ones with a history of being associated with opportunistic crackpots. I couldn't care less what the liberals, wef, illuminati or Alphabet say about Rumble.

During the lockdowns I watched a lot of Dr John Campbell's videos. I disagreed with his support of the vaccine, but respected him for gathering statistical data from around the world and sharing it on Youtube for all to access. The governments were not so forthcoming. I watched for over a year as shared information I did not have access to. All legitimate, peer-reviewed studies and collected data. All the while he got his first, second, then 3rd doses.
After about a year he slowly started questioning the safety of the vax. He'd show concern and wonder way certain things weren't being talked about and researched in more detail.
Long story short, he now has two channels. The original one on Youtube, and one on Rumble where he discusses things he is not "allowed" to say on Youtube. It was a very interesting transition to witness.
Btw, he no long supports the vaccines.
My point is that if mediums for information are being attacked, rather than the information being found there, maybe you should ask why. Despite what we are told, doing your own research is a good thing.

doing your own research is a good thing.
Exactly. You can find ways to access the "peer-reviewed" articles. Many of the ones referenced are very very far from what is advertised (lots of pre-review publications, lots with a ridiculously low number of study subjects (like single digit low), etc). Follow the money. The people promoting "do your own research by listening to my interpretation" are making bank.

Censorship to a certain extent is obviously real. If only one site in the world offers the "true" news, some critical thinking is required as to why that is the case.
Censorship is real, and it's in a lot of places you wouldn't suspect.

Most content sites, including this one, project a fairly liberal approach but always provide themselves a lot of leeway in their fuzzy guidelines -- lets them censor just about anything they like. I'm all for censoring hate and blatant distribution of misinformation, but I draw the line at canceling and censoring based on a moderator's view of discord or the subject in general.

That's fair enough. On the flipside, not my forum, not my rules. If I want a sandbox where I get to make the rules, I need to make my own sandbox and see if I can get people to join me.

Good luck with that 15-min. thing.
Hell, in a lot of suburbia, you couldn't walk to shopping or eating or work in 15 minutes. Maybe with a bike but they installed a crap-ton of stop signs for speed control (even though they are explicitly not to be used for speed control) so that sucks too. Start paying attention to the number of four way stops where there is zero need to stop the main flow road as there are always gaps present for people to enter safety. It is most of the intersections in suburbia. Talk about low hanging fruit for the carbon police. Removing most of the useless stop signs would save millions of tons of carbon emissions a year.

Here ya go. Stop signs on the through street, no stop sign on the crescent. Hamilton's crack pipe traffic planners doing what they do best. Crack pipe traffic planning.
