Harley Davidson sales up 13% stock, revenue soars

Looks like Zochen is doing a good job now that they kicked that liberal out of the top job. Sales are up, revenues up, and the new bikes are doing well. Of course you still have the old critics whining that they're not impressing the youth market, but they have no money anyway. There is a Chinese HD 350 coming to compete with the Royal Enfield Meteor though. Looks interesting.

accounting smoke and mirrors about EPS bla bla, as we've come to expect from HD
for 3 months their sales went up 13%

in large important markets their sales took a big dive(according to that article)

I think sales for all recreational goods have been up since Covid, so i wouldn't give credit to the new CEO just yet. the PanAm just launched, and reliability or regular folk are yet to review any.

Yes of course. In fact they went bankrupt years ago. Just in business on paper.

^ ouch
are tariff wars the new norm?

EU is simply looking out for EU (companies) interests? while shiteing on everyone else in their territory?
hmmm seems kinda trumpish lol

Shades of the mid-80s p*ssup with the Japanese on 700cc and over motorcycles imported into the U.S.
also the chicken tax for light trucks. but that was 25% at the time

holy cow, a 56% tariff. might as well just ban em at that point.
I guess the upside for HD is they have always strived for the feeling of exclusivity. We've all seen people that spend $50K+ on HD branded bolts. A large percentage of the buyers won't care about the tariff as they wanted HD not a bike. The ones looking for a bike or the working stiffs that have been saving up will need to look at other brands if this sticks.

Bought a new Harley this year. First time I bought a new Harley since 2009. I do like the bikes they are rolling out now and many of them are reasonably priced. It is old technology and not the most high performance bikes but I still love them. For something around 18 to 20 grand that you can just fire up and cruise around on there are a lot of options but to beat the whole Harley package / name ‘ sound ‘ feel ‘ whatever is tough.
My second choice was the new bmw R18 but it just didn’t make me want it for more money than the Harley
They are trying with the panam. and the electric bikes at least to offer different riders different solutions which is nice to see

HD is a big deal in Europe and that tax will not make life better. The Italians are crazy for HD, I found it bizzare when we spent a summer there, I was telling people I had an invite to the Morbidelli museum and I was all excited , all they wanted to talk about was how cool it would be to ride across the southwest US on a Harley.

There is a lid for every pot.

Cause of George Clooney .Ever since he bought the Villa on Lake Como and started riding Harleys around the Italians can’t stop talking about George Clooney, George Clooney, when I was in Como they kept telling me over there that’s where George Clooney live over there that’s where George Clooney live and ride his motorcycle’s. I kept saying I don’t care who gives a damn about George Clooney but they would keep going on and on and on like he was the next coming of Jesus.

I wonder how many younguns know that's why there's a popular 600cc class of bikes.

With the Euro 5 emissions standards, HD essentially chops off all their air cooled bikes, something I think HD knew years ago. Had they introduced their revolution liquid cooled engine sooner HD may be singing a different song.

Sucks because I know sportsters are popular in Europe.
