Harley Davidson Moped

That's dumb, the seats too high :|

Not really sure what HD is going for here. Its essentially a mountain bike but without the option to pedal. Mountain bike companies saw the electric movement coming long before motorcycles manufacturers did and have been making pedal assists for years. Can't imagine they will have much luck competing against Trek, Specialized, Giant, etc. in this market.

And Yamaha

I like that HD is trying to change, but they are clearly struggling with it. They don't have the history and culture to make new and exciting products yet. They have built an industry off tons of styling variations around a reasonably constant base package. They know they need to innovate, they know that means conventional bikes other than cruisers as well as electric bikes. They just haven't nailed the formula yet for something that will actually help them.

I bet that thing would be hella fun on some good single track.
Doesn't qualify as an ebike, likely way to expensive for just a toy. Still very cool, be fun to try.

Looks like fun ...BUT...can you park with all the other harleys at the coffee shop ???
Ride right in and claim it's your personal mobility device.

if HD does plan to bring these types of bikes to market
wonder how they envision retailing them?

not sure you're getting get HD dealers to order/stock them
would be out of place under the same roof as $35,000, 900 lb cruisers

I think they're going to have re-imagine retail if this is the future for them

I can see these at Volvo, Merc, Audi, dealers and such, some people buy higher price cars for family and trips. Up-sell one of these to the parents who don't want to pedal much, or even bundle them with a HD Ford F-150, for a dad who wants to take his kids out yet get just a light, small taste of riding around perhaps with the kids.

Like the earlier Honda's, kids (able to ride it) will have a quick short blast, build memories, and perhaps only want a HD in the future, even a hog or scrambler. My dad started on a Honda Z50 as a kid, even in his early 20's. To this day, only rides Honda's.

I looked at the RAD, its 28kg (70lbs?) and looks a bit clunky compared to the HD (words I never expected to type) . I really like the streamlined look, seat height is right , but money will be the deciding factor.

By the thread title I thought you were referring to this:
Made from roughly 1965 to 1967 for Harley-Davidson by Aermacchi

M-50 -- 50cc's of Pure Italian made HOG power

Things must be much worse at Harley then is being reported. If this is the drivel that's coming from their marketing department, it's simply a matter of time before the company starts circling the drain. What's next? Harley sewing and coffee machines? This must be a joke. Looking at that picture I can't see any way to mount the loud pipe.
