Had my 1st service for the NC750X.

BMW does it as part of the PDI as well, but it makes total sense to me to recheck everything after 1000 km.
It does make sense for BMW because they really have no other way to do it.

BMW makes about 150,000 bikes each year -- Honda makes that many by lunchtime on Jan 3. It takes Yamaha till Jan 9th to do the same. The sheer scale of production engineering and vertical integration makes it possible for Japanese makers to deliver products with final build quality that doesn't require a second set of checking and adjustment after 600 miles.

Thanks, that's the best joke I read today.

What's your point? That you can buy a filter element for an oil filter for $5 at some random website? And it will be cheaper than buying an whole oil filter at the dealership?

I don't think anyone is arguing that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That is the whole filter.

That is the whole filter.

And it's USD. And you forgot delivery. And they ship with Fedex Ground. This non-OEM filter element will be much more than C$33.50 OEM BMW whole filter at the dealership.

Just stop.

Why are you so obtuse?
That's all the filter I need. He's local. I pick it up and pay in CAD. He eats the tax. So yeah $5 like I said. The same filter is about $6 at CrapTire.
Now please let me be.

You are comparing apples to peaches and I'm the obtuse one? Lol, OK.

We're comparing the same thing. What it costs to purchase the thing that filters your oil. Filter / element just a name. I can buy it at CT for 1/4 the price you pay. I've said that from the start but you can't seem grasp the the concept so yes I'll go with obtuse.

hes got a serious inferiority complex because he owns a KLR and feels the need to constantly justify said ownership by telling to himself " every other bike aint reliable!"

its like marrying an ugly chick and telling yourself, "she'll never leave me!" every time you see your boys with hotties

Pretty sure you don't buy a killer if you have an inferiority complex.
I'm just comparing apples to apples, but Maniac is ****** his filters cost 4x more than mine.

$33.50 + tax for just an oil filter is crazy.

I buy my oil + filter at the stealership for my M3, and filter is about 1/2 that.

For reference, I just did the oil change on my Ninja with K & N filter + Motul 7100 for about the about $45 + tax.

$500, you guys are a riot. The BMW ownership myths continue
I think this may have been cheaper than my R9T! I was shocked….but it’s been a while since I had a BMW serviced to be honest.

Let me guess - Maranello with the MaxBimmer discount? That's hard to beat. Hmmm. I wonder if they share the parts counter with the bikes?
