Any bible quotes in this video?
Yup

Any bible quotes in this video? I grew tired of them and watch the Bearded Mechanic now instead.

Sent from my iPhone using GTAMotorcycle.com

Watched a review of his once. That was enough.
I also watched some bits n' pieces of a few of his videos. I lost interested after he stretched something that was worth 30 seconds into 10 minutes.

I HATE that about videos. I don't mind long video, but as long as they are worth the time.

It's the algorithm they need to abide by to keep relevant in the viewings.

They need to stretch things out to meet X requirement. That's why more and more videos are found with useless filler content, just to up those KPIs.

I know the reasoning behind it but FAK the algorithms.
If you have good content I will watch it. If you are wasting my time, guess what, I'm not coming back.

I actually do not subscribe to any channels. Just watch a few video here and there.

Allen Millyard is still pumping out videos. Current project is a Triumph V8. The man is a genius.

I lost interest when he completely up-ended his entire life by selling his shop and moving everything and his family to a different state simply because he had a 2 x 4 in his ass because it was too blue where he lived.

Bearded Mechanic is 100x the channel this one is. Seems like a good fella.

I like him, seems like the kind of guy I would enjoy a beer with well just hanging out in the garage. Yeah, he is very clearly a lot smarter than he lets on sometimes and intentionally dumb things down for the camera, but gotta do what you Gotta do I guess.

It’s ironic that he got his start after splitting off from Bikes and Beards dude (Shawn I think his name is?) after that hissy fit and move which he apparently wasn’t interested in following along with.

On the topic of YouTube channels, for the boat crowd here, check out “In Too Deep”. That guy is genuine, very clearly smart, a hard worker, and is making actually legitimately interesting content. If you’re into boats that is.

You might be unintentionally making a little smoke where there's no fire. Sean and Craig still collaborate all the time.

Sean's a good dude, a consummate learner, and a patient teacher. Sure he throws a bible quote in every video, so what? That's his thing. He says his bit, 20 seconds later it's done. Who cares? He also really lives by that stuff. He once called me up and we spent almost an hour on the phone and he gave me a lot of encouragement and advice.

Lastly, if you created thousands of videos like this guy does, a lot of yours are bound to **** some things up along the way. Trust me. I've made hundreds of videos that have all inevitably ****** someone off.

No perfect creators, no perfect videos, no perfect algorithms, and no perfect viewers.

I know, but the fact they live so far apart now isn't lost on everyone. Still friends, but also competitors in the YouTube space now.

Two things turn me off online, and I suspect more than a few here already know what that is....

Politics and Religion.

I don't want to hear about either from anyone. Have your beliefs, support and vote for whoever you want. Do whatever floats your boat. I have no problem with any of it. But I don't care about it, and I certainly don't want it pushed into my face, much less while watching videos or whatever that are supposed to be entertainment.

I used to follow SuperYachtCaptain as well on YouTube, but he posted a video few months back where he went full potato political and a lot of people (myself included) peaced out. He also suddenly didn't post a video for over a month afterwards, despite posting very regularly up until that time, so I have a strong suspicion there was some blowback somewhere as well.

There may be some cross-over in their audiences, on account of Sean featuring Craig for so long and pushing him to start his own channel, but I'd consider them collaborators before I'd ever think of them as competitors. They make two very different products.

You're right not to watch YouTubers who's content turns you off.

Sean's right to make his content how he sees fit.

AFAIK, Sean has the second-largest english-language motorcycle channel in the world. He's creating generational wealth for his family, by getting more people more engaged with motorcycling, donating and volunteering a ton of money and time, and does it all without hurting anyone. Wish we had a hundred more Sean Kerr's out there.

It's not anything personal, I don't personally dislike the guy but some stuff just irked me. A lot of clickbait. Then there's "Tank straps, tank straps, tank straps, tank straps, tank straps, tank straps, tank straps, tank straps, tank straps" But his anti-mask covid crap is what really pushed me away. I lost a friend due to Covid, and at the time, listing to some doofus talking about how wearing a mask makes you look like a clown and you might as well wear a paper bag over your head was the last straw.
