Gumball anyone? Coming to Niagara and Toronto May 25th!

As thread title says, the famous Gumball 3000 is coming to Canada once again after a short visit in 2010.
2012's route has been published and this year is strictly a North American run with a stop in Niagara Falls for an hour or so on the 25th from 7pm to 8:30pm and then finishing the first day in Toronto with some probably wicked partying.

Just reaching out to see who else is a fan of Gumball 3000?
By far my favorite crew is going to be The Dudesons!

Since I live in the Falls, I am kind of thinking of waiting for them with a few buddies on our bikes and perhaps joining them on their drive to Toronto.


Who else enjoys the Gumball??

Well I don't know what career you're in, or if you plan on rigging the lottery, but without a substantial amount of money, joining up with them as they ride through is probably the closest you'll get to Gumball 3000.
I know the above definitely applies to me lol.

I'm going to buy these and see if they'll let me into their group.

May 25th in Niagara from 7pm to 8:30pm and in Toronto from 9pm til 9am the next day at Bloor/Yorkville.

I've already added it to my calendar with 5 reminders haha.
Gonna need to borrow/buy a couple more GoPros too.

+ car, gas, freight (when they fly cars between countries), bribing money, tickets, license suspensions, food, party, etc etc etc.
You're basically looking at the price of a small house lol.

Nope, last time they were in town the OPP were awaiting them with open arms.

I believe one of them had their car taken from them.

They scope the destination countries very well and a lot of countries in Europe have similar laws anyways.
Look up Gumball 3000 news and you'll see some cars being impounded and some driver's licenses being taken away too.

Heck, a swedish guy was arrested right here in Niagara by the NRPS!
I can't youtube at work, but search "gumball 3000 niagara falls" and it should be the first hit, white Porsche.

Gumball 3000 has changed a lot from its originating years. It used to be semi-competitive where half the pack with sports cars would actually race to the checkpoints.
Nowadays, if you go to gumball3000.com and check what they're about, it says they actually promote safe driving, although I know that's a loose sentence and they like to have their fun (see youtube video I mentioned), and they do this for charities and tradition and they welcome law enforcements to escort them instead of taking all their cars away.

I've been following Gumball races for the longest time! Love them!

I always thought it would be awesome if a bunch of riders got together and did our own little Gumball 3000 race - make it over 2 or 3 days, with certain destinations, and a party at each one!
i.e. keep it local - Toronto - Kingston - Ottawa - Algonquin Park (spend not there) - Sudbury - and back to Toronto.
and combine it with a Time Trial pace, so it takes out top speed...

But anyway - for this up coming Gumball 3000 race - i think i'll have to be there to witness this. It's being marked down in my calendar right now.
