GTAM's traffic

I was actually looking up another site and it occurred to me to put in gtam out of curiosity.
What I find interesting is that only 65% of web traffic originates from Canada. After all, this forum is not only Canadian but heavily local, focusing on one, albeit large, community.
Another interesting fact is that 8% of traffic comes from India. Is there a lack of motorcycle forums there and those dudes are searching around the world for info and news? Why pick something based out of Toronto?

I'd think advertisers/the admin would be more concerned with: Roughly 36% of visits to this site are bounces (one pageview only)

I think around 30% bounce is not that high actually. I compared SVRider and they are at 50%.
I know I do that a lot from my cellphone. Especially when I'm busy, start looking up GTAM and then give up to focus on something else for a bit.
A lot of traffic from search engines probably ends up as bounces as well.

Not sure what percentage of people use them, but what about proxy servers and ip masking services?
Maybe some of that 35% really is from here, but just doesn't track that way.

I can understand why Indian riders would come here. Some Indian guys are mad for an ss. In India most bikes are smaller, like ~200cc, and geared to fuel economy and not acceleration. For those that dream of owning and riding an ss at very high speed, they wish to go abroad to the US, Canada or Europe and open it up. In fact many Indian students who go to North America to study openly talk about buying and riding an SS when they get here. This is almost impossible in India.

I used to visit an Indian motorcycle forum site. I used to post about riding here in Toronto, about used SS prices, snow, gear, etc. I used to leave link markers back to GTAM, so I'm not surprised GTAM has an Indian audience.

If you're interested in the Indian motorcycle scene, go here: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/. One of our typical "I was doing 250kph on the 401 and ran from the cops" threads would certainly rattle some cages.

Also wonder how much of the traffic is web crawlers, it is unbelievable how fast a thread from here shows up on Google.

This would explain the heavily accented, and poorly written threads that are aplenty.

This forum is actually quite consistent for good grammar and spelling. On many American forums it is the foreigners who write better than the domestic posters.

Maybe they love our sarcasm?

lol how about majority of the posters here since they've been banned multiple times...or so ive heard lol

I'm an immigrant dude, albeit not from India. Thanks for your input.
If you want to get rid of poorly written threads, I suggest you start writing to your MPP and beg for an educational reform.
It may also help to pry the eyes of Canadian kids, away from TV and cellphones.

Dude, how many here are not immigrants to Canada?

I immigrant too! We are immigrants together. However, we are browsing from within Canada, not outside it - so we aren't part of the 65%.

However, I might just take your advice and write a poorly written letter to an MPP. I'll throw in alot of LOL and IMHO's throughout the letter. It's subject matter will be my love and desire to see TV and Cellphones more prelevant throughout our society. Knowing politics, they'll do the opposite of anything I write about, so that's my strategy.
