Calling all creative motorcyclists, graphics designers, artists.


GTAM is going to be updating the forum software. This usually means some design changes in how the website looks. It also means this is a good time to have a new logo created.


We've decided there wouldn't be anyone better to design the new logo than the community itself.


You can post your designs here so others can have their opinion…or you can email directly to us. (accounts@gtamotorcycle.com)


We would really like the logo to include the motorcycles currently used (Sport and Cruiser) Preference will be given to the designs that include a variation of those.


Variations of the acronym GTAM can also be included. See attached for basic starting ideas.


It should be printer friendly forTshirts etc. (We may have a Tshirt Design contest at some point as well)


The Prize: Bragging rights and a $250 Gift certificate to any current GTAM Vendor of your choice.

We'll run this for one month. Ending Nov 20 2013.

There was a guy who proposed new logos and had some awesome designs he posted that blew away the current one but you guys poo pooed on his idea. This was about a year or two ago.

Anybody else remember it?

I asked google, they said it didn't happen. Gonna have to dig deep!

I checked that post out...unfortunately he has deleted the attachments...or they were gone in the big database loss.

Let's move on and see what people have!

P.S. - I'm sure lots will want to submit jokes logos....We'll just delete those so we can keep on topic.

Are you gonna be the judge Paul or will you let the people decide with a poll? Also any limit on how many submissions one can have?

I sent him an e-mail (not PM) to see if he has a copy of the logo's he did, just to check em out. I gave him a link to this new logo design thread too :)

Here is my entry:

I think a simplistic grey, red and white colour scheme would work well for this site as reflected in my design choice.

Edit:
Due to feedback about the sign not working well with the text I decided to make a revised version.

I also changed the text so that the G in GTA would be more readable, but it can be changed back to the strike-through at any time.
(Thanks to fastar1 for letting me know the gap between the T and the A looked to wide, it's fixed now in my revised design)

Edit 2:
A couple members said I should change the icon to a motorcycle vector that AF4ik used, so I changed it and I think it turned out pretty good. (Not sure if Paul will allow collaborated designs though)

I don't know if my last one can be entered in the contest since I used the vector image AF4ik used, and I took into consideration Paul wants a sport and cruiser logo.

Although I personally think a different sign logo would be more realistic about the roads we have in the GTA:

Like the black and grey combo. The twisty sign I'm a little iffy on. Maybe a way to alter in a way to look less like the sign ? Maybe have it do the twisty and come up to the top of the lettering turn right and make the cross in the "T" in GTAM?
 
I looked at it again. I don't think my above idea would work. The look of your lettering looks too good to interrupt.
 
Just an FYI to those that don't already know. Our existing logo (the bikes) was created by a member.

Time for an update / time for a possible change. We look forward to all the submissions.

Paul and I will narrow down the top five that we feel would work best for us and then we'll put it to a vote here.
