GS500 max speed in top gear?

I've hit over 160 kph GPS verified on a Ninja 250...I don't see how a GS500 should do any less than 180 kph...

I did 278 on my 08 R6 so I figured my new 07 R1 should be able to break 300 easy!! As soon as I got to 280 it started to accelerate really slow, and just died out around 298 but still had room to go on the tach!

I was ******, then read how restricted the throttle is at high RPM, and it has a factory speed limiter of 298!!! ECU flash solved both of those problems ;)

LOLz, u two are quite a read

6th gear, 205km/hr with a slight downhill and no wind.
that was indicated, but my speedo was 100% accurate up as far as 140km/hr from testing. So I'd say it was around 190-195km/h. It was also cold, the air was a lot more dense, and at a low elevation level.
Now with a bigger rear sprocket, 195km/h (can hit 200km/h with little wind) indicated on a flat surface. but my speedo has a percentage error now, so it was more like 180-185km/h instead.

and, as a nice officer pointed out, 170km/h (well it was actually something like 173? 108 mph) in 6th gear with a lot still left on the RPM (yes I know its drag limited, I know where my bike limits itself at, and I still had a few kRPM to go) this was also when it was colder.
