grunge brush = awesome

well I read this post this morning, searched a few places on the net and picked up my Grunge Brush and Degreaser which comes in a value pack for $25.

I got it at a bicycle shop called Brown's at Bloor and Jane, the last one they had......

I will take a few before and after pics and will reply later on today if anyone cares to take a look.....

A quick note, this brush is made by Dupont.....which makes very good stuff and they spend a hell of a lot of money on R&D so it should be a good product. as a lube I bought the Dupont multi-use lithium lube which webbikeworld also recommends.

Did you mean Dupont Teflon Multi-Use?

Let me correct myself, on line it said that Dupont makes that Grunge brush, but I just took a look at mine and it's made by someone else.

The Dupont multi-use is what I bought, Dupont also makes a lithium chain specific lube which is about a $1 less, which I was going to use but I went with the multi use as it is O-ring safe, also at Lowe's....the lithium is the fourth one (white can)

***oh shoot, I just realized I bought the multi-use lubricant, not the dry wax......is this a problem? In the webbikeworld article it shows the lubricant, not the dry wax.....I guess it might fling?

Well I just uploaded the pics in a slideshow format......if someone takes a look let me know if it's ok....I hope I did it right

I'd like to make note of the fact that this is NOT available at Crappy Tire stores.

Really now? funny.. that's where I bought mine a few years ago and I still see them there all the time.

To avoid the fling from the bristles, go with either the Kettenmax or the Moose Chain Scrubber.

They're self contained and also allow you to apply the lube in a contained manner.

Just ordered a grunge brish off ebay.. hope it works well. As for the grease flinging everywhere, wouldnt an old rag thrown loosely over the brush as you spin the wheel by hand contain the mess?

Holy thread resurrection batman!

Did you see the guy who was holding the rag over his chain and now he's missing a few fingers?

Use the Dupont Teflon multi use spray above. Wipe your chain right after, comes super clean and that lube is the best **** ever. I got 39,000km's of abuse outa my stock R6 chain and sprockets and they still looked new when I swapped them for a 520 conversion/+3.
