for ps3, the online racing is pretty cool.

still rocking the controller, gonna have to go shopping for a wheel and headset on boxing day.

any takers, later evening 1100pm is best for me.

Just opend mine and had a quick arcade run around Monza. The graphics are so real, it takes forever to load up. However the kids took over the PS3 and have been playing COD and Maddin all day.

Will have a closer look once the kids go to bed.

Stop stealing the kids games, u're too old for that

Do the full 8gb install onto your PS3, it'll load much faster.

Here is my setup:

But yeah, I'm a bit annoyed by the game. Too many restrictions on races so you're forced to buy certain cars, and too many annoying things to do (change oil, ....please). I'm not 12 years old....just let me race dammit.

We're doing christmas on boxing day so I will hopefully have it in my hands soon!
Got the new COD black ops and they knew I wanted GT5 so I might get it...
But I'd rather get new truck, bike or sled parts!

keep playing...the longer u play the faster the loads get.

B-spec mode can smoke me a big fat pole...WTF do i have to "manage" a driver for? and by manage i have to sit there and tell him "pace up/pace down/maintain pace/overtake"

and apparently to get some of the necessary cars to beat A-spec mode, you have to play B-spec...

also...most cars you cant put rims on unless they are premium...WTF is up with that? GT purist will say that the game is a racing sim not so u can "pimp" a ride...but i disagree...i want mycars looking nice...besides if that was the case, why have the stupid "car wash" addition?

For how long the game was delayed and what everyone was expecting, its marginally better than Forza 3 in some aspects (driving physics). In other aspects it took a step back by a decade.

No damage until level 20?!?
No modifying cars visually. Every colour has to be "unlocked"?!?
limiting you on what mods you can install on what cars...(No turbochargers or superchargers on any lambos or ferraris)
modifications cost exactly the same amount for a 10,000 dollar car and a 500,000 dollar car.
No brake upgrades?!?!??!?!?!
Stage I, Stage II and Stage III motor upgrades...what happened to cams, porting, balancing etc etc....talk about dumbing it down.

Why add all these BS things to the game? Nascar school? Go karts?!

IMO disappointed overall....i bought a PS3 a few years ago BECAUSE of GT5, jsut the way i bought a PS2 for GT3...so i'm not a Forza fanboy by any means, but Forza 3 totally imerses you into the game to a much higher level. You get attached to your cars much more as you can make them so much more unique.

Engine swaps? u got it...much more detailed upgrading and customization? check. Make the car look exactly how u want? yup.

GT5, you buy a car simply to use it as a tool to be able to enter a race. I dont feel like buying a car and modifying just to have it in the stable since i cant make it look how i want it....ghey!

Spent 99% of my game playing time online, alot more cars to choose from.

Meh who cares what the rims look like and if you car needs an oil change lol, your missing the best part of the game imo.

Englishj, if you're in the market for a wheel go get yourself a Logitech G27/G25 like the one Roasted has. It's expensive, but you'll thank me later.

The game gets boring after you have like 45 million credits, and at level 30... There are a couple of cars when upgraded and "tuned" properly, that none of the cars in the game can even keep up with. B spec mode is pretty stupid, I agree with the above sentiments, unless you are a trophy whore like some of my friends, there isn't really any lasting appeal, its a very dry game with a horrible menu system. After waiting so long to play it, I was disappointed. It is now collecting dust and I am playing DC Universe Beta instead.

wtf? DC universe beta is out? where?

Yeah, I waited and waited for this game... Dissapointed!
I love how in forza I can completely paint my cars the way I want them to look.
Online mode is for some reason confusing for me. In some rooms I have to use my own car and in others I can pick from a list? Don't understand that.

From the little time spent on the game so far, the online is strange- Prologue was much better where they assigned you into rooms at your skill level now you take a chance and waste lots of time as you never know if they are racing or just driving around.

We are not able to import any cash or cars from GT5 Prologue?
If not I did all that "work" for nothing.
Have to start over w/measly 20,000 bucks
Everyone seems to be split on GT5 from what I have read online
Sounds like a bit of a bloated letdown

Good chance i'll be doing an online race with a few of my work buddies tonight around 10.00pm.

It will be fair, everyone would be driving identical cars.

PM your screen name if interested.

^^ Damn, i really gotta get going and hook up my PS3 to my router already...
