My new Hedron GPS showed up with the courier today! wifi, bluetooth, 3D capable and XM weather data.

Suddenly a Zumo looks free by price comparison.

well no ****...

you're comparing a moto GPS to an aircraft one.

We actually bought it for the driving/marine application and the browser and email. Comparable Garmin or Raymarine was over 4k.
I've been using a modem through a SSB radio for email in remote locations so just looking for a lower cost per data transmission.

The aircraft/marine applications are where all the research and development gets done, the stand alone handhelds and car units are by- product of the commercial transport products.

I currently use a Garmin 765t. I am on my second cradle and windshield mount. For the features I want (Bluetooth, mp3 playback) there is not a comparable current nuvi. The zumo looks nice but I think I would end up dropping the $ for the Garmin app on my iPhone $50 vs 600 with lifetime updates. My only concern is power usage. I had the same setup on my old htc touch pro and running bt, GPS, mp3 + regular background phone functions would overdrive the available power and after a few hours the htc battery was drained even plugged in. I'm hoping this would not be the case with the iPhone plugged into a USB power point on the bike

Someone mentioned you're supposed to get a charging cable. The phone is thinking u're using it for data

Sent from my Phone, dont judge the grammar

Thanks Gene, just grabbed a 660 tonight.

I had a Zumo 550 and then upgraded to a 660 because the 550 didn't do A2DP.

I use it every single day for music and nav, so I think it's worth it. If you buy one 2nd hand, make sure the seller has the yellow registration card (with a 15-digit serial number) and that they are willing to transfer ownership to you via the Garmin website. If they don't agree to either, chances the unit is stolen and you won't be able to get updates and register new maps on your unit.
