No one should be looking back.......its not up to them to let you by.

Hard to pass on that track especially if people aren't looking back at you. Even some of the people were looking back, seeing you riding their *** and accelerating harder, lose lose. On my dizzer some of the sportbikers were just retards, riding them the entire time for 2 laps and not letting me by. I eventually would just pull off to the pits and reset myself, seemed the safest way to go after passing a guy who wasn't letting me by on the inside, was kind of a dick move but hey, they said fair game in the morning, which is something I don't think you should say. lol

I have to admit this was by far a right off for me people were not behaving in a trackday manner
I have never seen this type of behavior before.
As much as it is the responsibility of the person passing to do it in a safe manner i had several guys look at me see that i'm about to pass
and then goose their throttle to close the door as if they were racing.
please do everyone a favor if you feel the need to chop people in corners or race people to a corner at a trackday and i emphasize trackday stay at home or go racing.
I hope to see in the future more respect for each other on the track.
I also have to say that it was hot and i feel that this affected riders and there riding abilities

It's unfortunate that we had so many crashes yesterday. It's not rocket science to see if there are other riders in your group that are faster than you. I make it a point that if I think there are faster riders behind me, I'll try and not goose it as hard coming out of a corner onto a straight to give the faster riders a better opportunity to pass.

I took one rider to the hospital after a crash, broken heel, lots of spills and no major injures is a great reason to go to the track and not do this stuff on the streets.

Uhm... Sure it can be if they decide to be nice. There are multiple turns where I am wide open on my supermoto ready to touch tires then I have to back off the throttle because they are slower. A few times people would look by long enough for me to do a handsignal and let me by. Unfortunately because of my reckless pass I got on the bad side of one of the marshals, he said if I had another incident he would kick me out. I asked him to move up where I personally feel I ACTUALLY belonged and he said I was not fast enough. There were only about 2 riders in the int. class that were faster than I was, why wouldn't he send me up a class?

Maybe they should just listen and not make it personal instead of telling you "You know what I'm not discussing it".

It seems you think you are better than what you really are. Why worry so much about what group you are at? Ego?

Its just a track day, work on getting better, if you want to race, come over to SOAR to play ;-)

It isn't ego at all. It's the truth? Where does SOAR ride? What track? JW

Less bickering, more riding plz!

I was really interested in seeing how my 13hp CBR125R compared against my 110hp CBR600RR so I took videos of both and played them side by side together. The 125 was wayyyyyyy faster in the turns (I was able to get on the throttle before the apex) than the 600 but the 600 killed in the straights.

See the results for yourself:

The bikes I was riding....
1) Orange/Black Tribal CBR600RR...3rd bike from the left (Morning sessions)
2) Red CBR125R ...1st bike from the left (Afternoon sessions)

I have an awesome video I will be posting tonight of the supermoto guys. Check it out tomorrow.

You got some helmet cam vid? I saw your thumbs up as you passed me when I was riding the 125 :p

Another video...me riding my 600RR in the intermediate group. I think I have most of the intermediate grid on camera here.

I'll never understand why some people are reluctant to allow someone to pass them on a trackday. If you have clear track in front of you and the rider behind is in a position to even attempt a pass, that means, by definition, they have caught up to you and are faster than you. You are holding them up. I'm not saying you should be looking behind yourself, but if someone shows you their wheel, why not extend them the courtesy of a clean, easy pass? Chances are they are going to gap you pretty quick once they are past, so it is not costing you anything to let them by.

Forcing someone to complete a difficult pass instead of making it easy for them increases the danger to both riders exponentially. At a track day that is just plain stupid.

Ego hit? Thats the only thing I could think of...

!00%, had exact scenario on Tuesday. Passed a guy on the straight at Calabogie, came up to the next guy at the brake markers rolled off a bit, only to see the guy I passed beside me heading into 1. So I let him by, catch both at 2 passed between 4 and 5 and did not see them again that session. Why the run into 1 was beyond me.

18 riders in a group is too many for the RDT track. Throw in the fact there's plenty of racer wannabe's that tend to show up at that track and you're going to get people hitting each other all day long. It's a "developement" track and too many riders treat it as a race track.
