Got my cruiser today..

So, after a very long hunt, I finally able to get a cruiser. 2008 V-star 1100 Custom with 16k-km. It came with lots of accessories and with many mods. Initially, I was trying for v-star 650, both were comfortable to my build but this 1100 monster took me away with it. Now I can't wait and want to ride it to my maximum. Pics to follow.

Congratulations for your new ride. Good choice to buy one with accessories, that stuff is expensive if you want to add later. How much did you pay? And what's added on it?

Here we go... http://zagtherider.blogspot.ca

I paid $6500 for it. Not much towards chrome shines so I found this fit to my taste and height. It came with new saddle bags, passenger back rest, swing-out highway pegs, hyper charger, HardKrome exhaust pipes (shotgun), and others as in pics. I have taken out wind shield and back rest for now. Seller also threw in some filters and cleaning kit.

She is a beauty, I have the exact same pipes on my 650. Maybe you should call her Irene :)

Good luck dude, ride safe.

That vstar is flat out gorgeous. Nice buy. May it give you years of safe riding.

Fantastic looking bike. You will have many years and many miles of worry free riding with that bike. Vstar engine based on the old Virago engine while is basically bullet-proof. The only mod I would suggest is there is an oil filter relocation kit you can buy which allows you to use an external filter. I don't see it on the bike in the pics you provided. The reason I say this, is that as far as I understand it, you have to drop the front cylinder header pipe to access the oil filter. The relocation kit allows you to use a spin on filter and not have to drop the exhaust ever time you need to change the oil.

Thanks all and for the tips and yes the oil filter kit is a must. Any suggestion from where I can get it?
Another thing is that licence plate is mounted vertically on a plate holder attached to shaft. I think cops and 407 toll route people don't like it. When i was trying to relocate I found that original holder is moded as well. Should I fix it and put the plate to its original location or vertical plate on shaft is just fine?

Congrats. I've had mine for about 11 years now. Still loving it. They're built rock solid. Managed to put on a total of 125,000 k's in this time. If it doesn't have a oil filter relocation kit. Get one installed. Will allow you to change your oil in about 25 minutes ranther than taking it in and spending $80.00 on an oil change or an hour of messing arround taking off the lower exhaust and brake pedal assembly.

Congratulations....Enjoy it...its an awesome motorcycle with lots of power and character...with a nice exhaust it sounds like hell and gets lots of extra power...enjoy your new ride and have fun...

Any tips on the oil filter relocation kit installation? I gotta do it too on mine, wasn't sure if I should take it to a mechanic or just do it myself.

Congrats I have a 1100 Silverado. Love my baby!

Damn that's nice! Congtatz. That Kury Hypercharger stands out so much from the black...

Windvest is cool. Lets ride! lol

On the KTM, I have my plate mounted vertically as well, from the swingarm (have had it like this for a few years now). No issues to report from 407 nor the police (and I've been through a few spotchecks to date). Mind you, no clue if this is in fact "legal" to display this way...take my input for what it's worth i.e. legally - nada.
