Second video from wife. Yes she's a typical iphone user with vertical film syndrome. I blocked out some audio.

You can see from this video that the lady took off then crashed into the curb a short distance later. Then she took off again for about 200 feet? Then crashed into the curb again before finally giving up.

Good advice. I actually yelled at my wife to get out of her way. I cut that audio out since I called out her name.

I'm curious to know why you blocked out identifying features of the other car's plate or the drivers face. It's not a bad thing if we know that a specific vehicle or driver is known to drive drunk. The other party probably thanks you for protecting them from embarrassment.

That's a hit and run. Jail time if I'm not mistaken.

Impaired driving + Dangerous Driving + accident is already jail time, as far as I know.

Dependng on the situation, you could be charged under either the*Highway Traffic Act*or the*Criminal Code*of Canada.*Under the*Highway Traffic Act, penalities include a fine of between $400 and $2,000, seven demerit points, a maximum of six months in jail, and a suspended licence for up to two years. If convicted under*the*Criminal Code,*you may be liable for imprisonment up to five years. *In addition, you will have a criminal record.

OP - glad to hear you guys are OK.

The officer asked me to provide the originals as evidence. I'm not sure what the rules are regarding posting evidence on youtube. So I blocked out some audio, the driver's face and plate.

She will probably not get charged under the criminal code since she didn't kill anyone. Maybe next time she kills someone then she will get charged.../sarcasm.

Failing to remain at the scene has nothing to do with killing someone.

If she is not getting charged with it, that's because she only attempted, but couldn't flee.

When did she blow ? Do you know ? Because what she blew - 0.08 BAC - used to be the legal limit a few years back.

She blew over 0.08 BAC, that's all I know. The officer didn't tell me the exact figure. They took her away in the back seat of a police car in cuffs.

now if you were out riding with your buddies and some of you got hit, would it have been ok to drag her out the suv and
"beat" her?

Trick question because the SUV beating wasn't endorsed by society and legislation but was vigilantism.
