Got hit by a DUI driver, who then tried to flee

Got hit in my cage with the wife in the passenger seat. The other car bounced off me, and went up the curb hitting a tree. She then tried to flee. Video starts after she already tried a few times to get off the grass.

Cops came in 3 mins and she was arrested for blowing over 0.08 BAC. Car is impounded for 7 days, license suspended for 90 days.

Just imagine if I was riding, I would be dead for sure. If I'm not dead from the initial impact, I would be when she drives over me to get away.

I blocked out audio of names & reading out loud her plate number.

I'm glad you guys are ok.. And her hubby will be blowing a nice wad of cash on a lawyer... she better give him lots of bj's for the next fur coat :cool:

Glad you are OK and were not on the bike. I drive a tow truck so believe me when I say you are not the first and far from the last.

Friend of mine was riding down Lakeshore at 10am on a Sunday with his buddy. Ends up behind a guy weaving quite a bit. They're on bluetooth together and they decide to pass him. As they pass my buddy glances through the window and sees the dude is obviously drunk as hell. They gun it and take off because they don't want to be near him but catch the next red light. They stop and 20 seconds later hear a huge crash. Dude hopped a median and totaled his car on a tree. Luckily before he got to the stopped traffic at the light.

My aunt was killed instantly when a drunk driver the cops were chasing crashed into my aunt and uncle head on on their way back from a party. Uncle shattered his legs and broke his lower back from the impact being transferred through the brake pedal (he pushed with both feet as hard as he could to try to stop as fast as possible). He became addicted to the morphine they gave him for the pain and then moved on to heroin after his prescription ran out. After he blew through his $250k he got from her life insurance ($1 mil split between 3 kids and my uncle) he hung himself with an extension cord because he owed too much money to drug dealers and his son (who was the one who found him) refused to lend him more drug money. Their 3 kids now have no parents.

Drunk driving is bad. Glad you were ok. That's all my drunk driver stories.
 
unL33T - I'm sorry for your loss. It's unfortunate that the people that pay the most for drunk drivers are the innocent bystanders in these accidents. Many times the drunk driver/idiot comes out without a scratch. OP - as for your situation, glad no one got seriously injured and you were able to catch the ***** after she hit you. Hopefully she pays for this for a very long time and a very expensive legal team bill.

Yeah the driver was fine, of course.
 
I hate these f'n ****** drunk drivers. It's because of these morons who can't control themselves that we need such sweeping legislation.
 
Fell your pain consider yourself luck. I got hit head on by a drunk driver about 10 years ago. Luckily I was driving a lifted Jeep at the time and literally drove over him. He was so drunk he just kept his foot matted to the floor even though there was nothing left of his car.

Here's the kicker. He was delivering pizza's for 2-4-1! The cops felt bad so they took the pizzas from the car and put them in the ambulance for me to have as a snack...lol
