Got a Arai corsair v!

That xd3 looks awesome. Love the carbon fiber. Does it have any BMW decals on it tho?

Neither of those are the XD3, whitch is an Arai helmet. The top one is the BMW Enduro helmet, the second is the BMW System 6 helmet.

There is a very very small BMW logo at the back of the helmet at the bottom. Not really noticeable at all.

This is the Arai XD3

For $700 it should come with a complete BMW not just decals. Looks nice though.

Whys that? Its a good, incredibly light, comfortable quality helmet.

I was going to buy another, would not question the price. The Arai was on sale, so thought I would give that a go this time around. If the XD3 was not the price it was, I would have bought the Enduro over the Arai, I think its a better helmet for my noggin.

Oh my bad. That enduro looks good then. Better than the arai. But I would trust a helmet company over a car company for my head. I know they out sourced the lid but arai is known for their quality. Not knocking the enduro but just my opinion. End of the day what ever fits you best!

So would you never by a yamaha because they make guitars? Pianos? Keyboards?

BMW gear is top quality gear. The helmets are made by Schuberth I believe, I could be wrong on that. There is no quality issues with the BMW helmets, and are extremely well made.

BMW gear is known for its quality as well. Each to their own, but there is no reason to have any concern over BMW gear.

+1 on BMW gear. I have BMW boots that are amazingly comfy. Saying that though, I'd never spend $700 or even close on a helmet.

I buy whats comfortable for my head, its worth it to me. I have had my fair share of cheap helmets, and they just don't compare to a good quality helmet. My head is worth it.

Same argument as comes out often. Your head is as protected in a cheap helmet as an expensive one as is shown time and time again in tests. The bottom line of the company who's helmet you buy appreciates it more though. Look at the WebBikeWorld article for SparX helmets. Makes very interesting reading.

I am not worried about how safe the helmet is (I know its a good quality). It comes down to comfort and weight. I have both a Shoei RF1100 and an Arai XD3 and the BMW is lighter and more comfortable. I ride 8 months of the year, everyday, rain or shine. My helmet comfort is important to me, hence the willingness to pay a higher price tag then some.

OK that's true. I'm finding many of the cheaper manufacturers are doing pretty well with helmet liner materials now though. You're **** out of luck though if your head only fits pricy model helmet shells.

I have no issues with helmets that fit, its just they are not comfortable and feel cheap. I have had icon, HJC, Bell, and others I cannot remember the name of. I like my Shoei and Arai, but the BMW is top of the heap, its just to worn down from use to be safe anymore.

Yeah I see your point. I meant arai just specializes in helmets and they are trusted by many racers. I'm sure anything BMW puts their logo on will be top quality.

Welcome to my hell... Arai Corsair V XXL is the only helmet that fits properly for me. And even that doesn't quite fit right. I have a wide jaw and I needed to get thinner cheek pads. I need an oval on top and circle on the bottom. I think I just have a messed up frankenstein head.

Unless somebody makes a SNELL/DOT approved Storm Trooper helmet, I'm always going to have this problem with full face helmets.

Your lucky, XXL Arais are always the cheapest because its a very rare head size, and stores always have them left over and on sale...Medium and Large NOT SO MUCH!

The good thing about the Arai is you can custom fit them to your head by changing out the cheek pads or head liner

An XXL Corsair comes with a 20mm cheek pad as standard, from there you have 2 smaller options a 15mm or 12mm....The are roughly $40-50 a set.....
