GoPro Helmet Camera Rental?

Anyone locally sell the Drift?

When I was buying mine during the Christmas holidays, the only ones I found locally were upwards of $400. I ordered from B&H, they give you the price upfront (no surprises like duty fees, etc.), I had it at my door in 3 days via Purolator, their standard shipping to Canada. In fact, now I'm not sure---they might even have warehouses in Canada and ship from here, I don't remember.

What did you end up paying "all in"?

place an order, at checkout---choose shipping, they calculate if there are any duties right there, etc. There is a text at the checkout saying you won't have to pay a dime more.

I agree the Drift HD170 has many advantage over most of these "Helmet Cams" (too many to list). I bought one myself. BUT the DriftHD has everything the Drift HD170 has plus a few more advantages like it's smaller and has a replaceable lens. The only 2 disadvantage I see is the DriftHD uses MicroSD cards and you can't put a High Capacity battery in it.

Also, the Drift HD170 and the Stealth are not on the drift site anymore.

I must correct you: the Stealth does support a high capacity battery. In fact, in the deal I sent above, they include an extra high-capacity battery for free (read two lines below the price).

I personally am very very satisfied with the Stealth. It looks cool, unobtrusive, remote control, rotatable lens, it's fantastic.

I never said the stealth didn't support the high capacity battery... I said the DriftHD doesn't.

also, how is the MicroSD a disadvantage?

SD cards are cheaper and you don't lose them when you sneeze.

Oh, ok about the battery, must have misread.

The microsd cards are not much more expensive. And truth of the matter is that there is one major "problem" with these cameras--it is too easy to capture a lot of HD footage on a single mid-capacity card, and what I found out is that I never find time later to go over the hours and hours of video, be captured in a single day.. personally, I try to force myself to film only the highlights of any trip on which I have the drift be it motobiking, bicycle or skiing.
