Google Chrome

Nope. I mean CTRL+SHIFT+T .. which reopens a tab you might have accidentally closed ;)

Facebook and Google have opposing views on privacy.

Google isn't really the Big Brother, not in a evil way as many people believe. Google services are all opt-in, meaning if there's a feature that they want you to use, they ask you if you'd like to use it or if they can use your information, anonymously, for information gathering. You can easily say no thanks and Google won't use you.

Any new feature or privacy changes, Google lets you know of the changes and again, asks you to opt-in to any changes.

Facebook on the other hand, IS the real evil Big Brother. Their new features, whether it's your privacy or collecting information is always opt-out. You usually notice a change and then find out after that your profile is open to the public. I hope Google+ takes off because it is the smarter and safer choice with in your hands control; unlike Facebook.

I've been trying to help google+ take off, offering invites to people but uptake has been slow and most are not using it. their invite only policy for new tech fails on things like this. just like it failed with google wave.

Google+ does not offer anything that much different from Facebook right now (as opposed to Facebook vs. Myspace). Facebook has 'first mover advantage' right now.

They are no longer invite only.

The biggest difference between Google+ and Facebook is that Google+ is catering to everything. It's a one stop shop, all integrated. Email, calendar, social media, android, etc etc.

I have faith that over time, Google+ will be successful. It'll just take time, once they start marketing it again and putting it out there.. people will switch.

Google+ isn't feature intensive yet, but it will be!

Facebook has a bad rep, Google can feed off that if they're smart.

Back OT: IE FTW!

People still use IE?
Thinking the same thing. Other than for work I haven't used IE in like 10 years. Now we use Firefox at work, too. Still have old IE 6 we use for internal web apps though.

And a baby kitten dies a horrible death every time you start the browser :(

... but what did you switch back TO???

(Firefox user here, no plans to change that)

Wave failed because it was fairly useless... Most of the collaboration tools were already built into Google Docs. Tried it, couldn't find a worthwhile use case...
