Im fed up with IE on my computer. Always crashing and giving me errors. Yes, I have the latest updates.

Just started using Google Chrome. Is this an ok, safe and encrypted browser like the IE?

Thanks. I've been an IE guy for a bazillion years.

.

I've using chrome for a couple of years now and never had an issue...
I find it faster and more responsive than IE and firefox...

chrome only for me. no privacy concerns.

Started with IE, moved over to Firefox, now using Chrome. Best browser of the 3 in my opinion, really fast and rarely crashes/become unresponsive

I tried Chrome when it first came out. Didn't like it.. there was no extensions. I went back to Firefox.

Earlier this year I tried Chrome again for one month. I still don't like it. Most of the extensions I use in Firefox are still not available on Chrome and there's no alternative.

If you are coming from IE then Chrome would be perfect because you don't know what you are missing with extensions.

Chrome for the win.

IE is .... well, it's IE. Yes I'll admit that through 7, 8 and 9, it is getting "better" but nothing compared to today's Chrome. They will never be ahead of Chrome and Firefox because all they do is copy every else's features.
Firefox used to be the best a couple years ago when it was actually light and fast. Now it's become what it was trying to replace: bloated and heavy.
Chrome is always quick, snappy and VERY easy to maneuver around in (referring to shortcuts, half of them being done with the mouse).
I am guessing Splash has very specific extensions/capability needs, because the Chrome Market has a ton of stuff now.

My favorite part of Chrome: Synchronizing my bookmarks.
Whenever I set up a new computer or reinstall Windows or any reason for me to install Chrome somewhere, I just log in with my gmail account, count to 5 and bam, my themes, bookmarks and extensions automatically get installed and my newly installed Chrome looks just like the one I've been using at home for 2 years.

People still use IE?

CTRL+SHIFT+T = my favourite Firefox/Chrome short cut :happy3:

well aware of the dates, its privacy with google it's self that i am concerned about

Google is in the information gathering business after all. Everything you do on google, be it chrome or gmail or whatever is catalogued. They are in essence the big brother. Don't mean to sound paranoid or anything, just saying...

exactly my point. search engine, email, chrome, chrome os, android... surprised they didn't buy facebook.

I think you mean CTRL+T if want to open a new tab. Or CTRL+SHIFT+N for Incognito mode?

But yes, Chrome FTW. There are some things you can't do on Chrome which is weird or maybe it's just me. I have both Chrome and Firefox as backup.

Nope. I mean CTRL+SHIFT+T .. which reopens a tab you might have accidentally closed ;)

Facebook and Google have opposing views on privacy.

Google isn't really the Big Brother, not in a evil way as many people believe. Google services are all opt-in, meaning if there's a feature that they want you to use, they ask you if you'd like to use it or if they can use your information, anonymously, for information gathering. You can easily say no thanks and Google won't use you.

Any new feature or privacy changes, Google lets you know of the changes and again, asks you to opt-in to any changes.

Facebook on the other hand, IS the real evil Big Brother. Their new features, whether it's your privacy or collecting information is always opt-out. You usually notice a change and then find out after that your profile is open to the public. I hope Google+ takes off because it is the smarter and safer choice with in your hands control; unlike Facebook.
