No idea if it was a factor or not, but Ossington rent couldn't have been cheap.
No idea either, but Ossington is a hell of a lot different and more expensive than it was 10 years ago.
Will be sad to see them go.
Not quite the same as Queen (yet), which has been overrun with chain shops. That being said, it’s only going to get worse: CityNewsoutside of the golden turtle pho restaurant, ossington is just tourist trash now. just like what queen street has turned into.
i started my riding career about 7 years ago by buying a helmet from town moto. sucks that theyre gone but the owners andrew and marika had moved out of the city relatively recently so maybe it was just time.
Quaint store, visited a few times, made some purchases. But speaking as a 905er, it was a pain in the ass to get to and not worth the effort unless already in the area.
Pain in the ass to get out of the city, too (and to get back in, if you’re lucky enough to leave!)its a pain in the ass to get anywhere in this **** city now. im literally surrounded by construction, barely used bicycle lanes, and ugly ass pylon patios that basically turn every major street into a single lane **** show everywhere.
Took me almost 2 hours to go from my home in Waterloo to Brampton yesterday… just stupid.its a pain in the ass to get anywhere in this **** city now. im literally surrounded by construction, barely used bicycle lanes, and ugly ass pylon patios that basically turn every major street into a single lane **** show everywhere.
Never heard of them. Riding for over 2 decades, but not to downtown since I started working from home 13 years ago. Still sucks to see another motorcycle shop closing their doors...its a pain in the ass to get anywhere in this **** city now. im literally surrounded by construction, barely used bicycle lanes, and ugly ass pylon patios that basically turn every major street into a single lane **** show everywhere.

Regarding getting in/out of city - there is a simple solution (all civilized countries approved and encouraged) - LANE SPLITTING/FILTERING!!! When I tell my Euro friends that it's a crime in Canada, they honestly don't understand what's the point of riding a motorcycle then, when you have to stay with cages in a traffic anyway???

You can afford them now they are all heavily discontinued. ……
At the clearance sale of another friends business that was winding down the usual comments were I love this shop , sorry to see you go. But nobody is buying at retail , or worse using the shop as a test fit lounge .
It’s a ****** time to be a boutique retailer in a seasonal business .

Can't say anything about this shop (never been there) and I'd love to support local business. But if they charge 50-75% over what I can get SHIPPED from Europe, sorry, I'm not gonna help you! I'm okay with overpaying 10-15% (especially if I'll be getting some additional service/help with warranty issues, etc., which is, unfortunate, also not the case in Canada), but anything more than that is just pure robbery. And sadly that’s how most of the canadian retailers operate (those who sell top quality stuff, like, Rukka, Stadler, Schuberth, Daytona, etc). You can afford them now they are all heavily discontinued. ……

I think that problem is at the distribution level not retail. Often wholesale prices in canada exceed retail prices in other countries. Hard for a retailer to compete with that model. Can't say anything about this shop (never been there) and I'd love to support local business.
