LOLyou think that if some American soldiers were caught by Afghan Insurgents ( before Operation Pee ) they would be given a little lunch and sent home after a nice movie ?
But now that some soldiers were caught peeing on their buddies, they are really, REALLY upset now.
Oh man. Now everyone is going to hate them. this war was almost over until they went and Pee'd on some dead guys.
maybe they should have just captured some journalists and chopped their heads off .

@Downunder could be another abu ghraib type of thing where they leak it on purpose. I remember seeing a documentary where the marines of abu ghraib were ordered to take those pictures of the Iraqi prisoners like that otherwise they faced threats from higher up. I mean they couldn't be that stupid to take a video for the hell of it could they? Then again maybe they are that stupid.....
Probably based on all those videos of them beheading people...but that can't be as bad as getting peed on. Always liked that bumper sticker "if you don't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them" I don't agree with what they did, but based on all the stress they have to deal with i wouldn't get to bent out of shape because of this.
The majority of the people in the US military come from poor communities. They can either be jobless in places like michigan or join the forces, doesn't exactly leave them with a lot of options.

Yeah it's funny how that works, isn't it? Send all your manufacturing and labour to 3rd world dumps, and then sign up all those out-of-work citizens for military duty and ship them off to 3rd world dumps to fight wars for "freedom" and "democracy" :lol:

CF is also refusing recruits other than in some highly specialized professional fields. Now that the right wing has won the Cold War, I watch the news out of morbid curiosity. Not that I would have preferred for the left wing to win it either. The Average Joe lives better when there are alternatives and his ruling elites know that he knows about'em.
Every country needs a strong army and I have great respect for those who volunteer and honour their commitments to serve, regardless of how they feel about the ethics of the conflict. It can be very difficult to express gratitude for that commitment while pointing out that they are serving the banks and oil companies, not the bastions of freedom.
Don't lump all militaries together. Many help with building schools and hospitals and wells. The seeds of equality also get planted. It might take a while for them to sprout but hopefully that will come. In most of the western world women couldn't vote 100 years ago. Less than fifty years ago companies in Canada could advertize for "Men only".
Americans are so wrapped up in their flag that they don't realize that they only helped win part of WW I (Came in late), helped win part of WW II (Came in late) Korea was a United Nations action and the war wasn't won (Truce). Vietnam and now Afghanistan aren't US military victories.
The prime foe in Korea and Vietnam was actually China, now one of the USAs biggest trading partner and decimator of US jobs.
More US citizens die yearly because of big business (Crap food, smoking etc) than died on 9-11 but if you fly "Old Glory" on top of your building it's OK.
I still admire them though. Their loyalty is like that of a dog who gets beaten and treated like crap by it's owner but still would stand between the owner and a grizzly bear.

Hmm, lets see, Hitler had a strong army, so did Castro, Chavez has a corrupt, yet strong army and he has oil behind him, I guess it is good to have a strong army as long as you pick and choose your advsaries...Oh and they all helped build schools, hospitals and wells too, they even kiss babies.

Loyalty needs to have it's limits too. One of the problems with the military is that troops don't have the option to express their loss of faith in their leaders. I'm not saying this event was a direct result of that restrictive, destructive, masochist environment, but it plays a role.
BTW dogs don't have a choice either, they're hardwired to risk themselves for their 'pack'. Nothing admirable about dogs or soldiers, it's all just a pathetic waste. Especially considering the beneficiaries of this sacrifice.

The ones in the army are trained not to think, they have others do that for them. The rest are fat ***** in a beer and sports induced coma couch warriors while 1% robs them blind. They are the newest members of the Banana Republic. They even charge CDN's to cross the border like the coconut countries.
