The general rule I follow for CT is never buy any CT branded tool or related item for full price unless you need it right now in an emergency... All of it goes on sale for deep discounts (40 to 60% off) rotationally every few months. Just have to wait for the one you want.
 
Yep I wait for sales. The CT app for android and ios has a sale alerts feature for items in your shopping list. Very useful.
