Golf-adjustable drivers

Dude spend you money on lessons and stop buying clubs lol.... I did the same. Did moving your left foot forward a bit helped your slice?

Actually yes it did...and I'm just looking at booking a few lessons....my clubs are 20 years old at least that's why I'm replacing them. I figure a few things have changed since then.

Plus new(er) clubs are shiny right....and I like shiny things.

So...I don't mind the odd game of golf but I've always had a persistant, repeatable slice from longer clubs. It got bad enough that I really didn't play that much for a while. I'm starting to look at the adjustable drivers and went to have a play with one in a golf store and the thing actually worked to help the slice a bit.

I've been looking at the prices of these things and they are staying pretty high and there's not too many of them on Kijiji near me etc. Anyone been in the same situation and bought a new one? Regrets? I'm seriously thinking about splurging on the Taylormade R11S and hoping that it would be the last club I'd ever need to buy because of the adjustability.

cheers.

Sorry, but as other's have stated, it will be better in the long run to fix your swing rather than spending $$$ on a "better" driver that will have marginal results.

Point taken. Lessons will be booked for next week. I did replace the old clubs I had though.

Where were you guys when I traded in my wooden shafts for a set of Arnold Palmer Chargers 50 years ago?

Oh and can people be disqualified for using those humongous freaking drivers? Isn't that cheating?

Golf doesn't even seem like a sport any more.

For the op, if you're truly consistent and your swing doesn't damage your body, it might be easier to adjust the club.
That being said, how long until the next version of clubs comes out, and how much of a difference will they make, and are you truly consistent?

I think the OP got the point already.

On a side note - i bought a Medicus driver a while back, and it has done wonders for my swing.
There's only so much it can do, but it helps to break some bad amateur habits.

Lessons booked....managed to find some that weren't too steep at a local course, $40 per hour. Very excited!

Totally worthwhile lessons. You were all right so I signed up for a few more. After an hour my slice was still there but only when I lapsed into bad habits (I've been slicing for years so I have to overcome some muscle memory problems with the swing). Was hitting 150 yards dead straight with a 7 iron (the only club used for the first lesson) on an easy swing. I got videoed and a problem was a too aggressive swing so I calmed that down and things got more accurate quite quickly. Went over weight transfer and hip movement, adjusted my grip a little to a "strong" grip, then looked at club face position at the start and end of the swing. The last part was the only one I had problems with because as soon as I started to focus on that everything else unravelled. More practice is needed.

Also...looked at the clubs I have and I have a gap between the PW (47 degrees) and lob wedge at 60 degrees....I should probably get a sand wedge right? Something around 55 degrees loft?

Try and find a 52 deg gap wedge.I bought one years ago and have found that it's the second most used club in my bag.
