These bikes both come out at a grand a year on insurance, give or take.

Which bike is a better choice:

76,000km High KM(touring) ninja 650, apparently lady driven, supposed to be all high, never been down.

Or

30,000 kmProbably a serial learner bike, Dent in tank(rust?) and looks like its been down on both sides.

Both are Kawi.

One is a newer design but much high miles. Told it's mostly highway

650 by a mile, the 500 is a a nearly unchanged thirty year old design

Yes, but it is also indestructible.
I've seen the same 500 Ninja fall three times in the same night. Nothing happened to it.

$1000 seems very high... What company did you get that quote from?

I pay just under $400 for my ninja 500

TD MM, 24, 3 at faults not rated because they were in a car

you sure about that? I'm pretty sure they don't care if its in a car or on a bike...your record follows you. Make sure you give proper disclosure or when they sign you and they finally run your abstract you'll be in deep water (cancel your policy for failure to disclose) and thats something you NEVER want on your record.

As per the original question....
Ninja 650 is a fantastic bike!

EX500 all the way!

Endless supply of cheap used parts! (2nd Gen was unchanged from '94 to '09)
Easy to wrench on! (Like your old bike, valves have no shims)
Excellent Commuter (OP is downtown)!
Great community support (ex-500.com)!
Banana seat, great for two up!

Panty dropper!

BTW... you can work on that price, it's a little high!

Isn't the 650 worth a lot more the the 500, and newer? Is insurance the only factor here??

Basically is the price difference worth it?

Um your driving record is you driving record. Regardless of what you drive.

Some insurance companies rate cars and bikes seperately.

I disclosed fully, they didn't care. They rate separately at TDMM

. I'm a bit concerns the carbs are synced properly, any member you really knows the ninjas mind giving it a listen?

Why concerned? How's it run, idle?
