Getting M licence with no bike

Hi

I need some suggestions. I sold my motorcycle last year to pay off debt and I need to get my M licence. My M2 expires early next year. (5 years right?) Are there any courses that provide you a bike and allow you to take your M licence?

I heard there is a high failure rate with taking the ministry course on your own. I am willing to pay for a course, so I have better odds of passing. Plus I don't think the ministry provides you with a bike.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

As far as I know, the entities that run the M2 exit course and test require to to bring your own bike. I've never heard of a company that provides them to customers. I could be wrong... And also, the ministry test isnt hard, unless of course you've developed some bad habits.

I have never heard the high failure rate stat... I took mine in Aurora a few years ago and it was SO easy lol. Put a walkie talkie earbud in your helmet, listen to the instructor who is in a car behind you (including on/off highway with lane changes) and your done! at least that was me...

Send a PM to Toysareforboys, he's always on here looking to borrow bikes. He might be alright with renting his bike out.

Edit... Oh snap damn slow typing.

my buddy rented a bike last year @ gta exotics
he had only gotten his M2 the month before and they still let him rent it

yes, it is expensive tho

Rules on GTA Exotics:

Minimum age for all motorcycle rentals is 23 years of old
To rent a motorcycle, the renter must have a valid motorcycle’s license. M1 licenses are not accepted unless you are renting the motorcycle for the purpose of taking your M1 exit test. M2 licenses are accepted providing you can prove that you are a competent rider (a GTA staff may follow you for 5-10 minute ride along a designated route to examine your riding skills).

Wow, thanks for all the help so far! I just remembered that my sister has a bike, maybe I can borrow that and take the M test with the ministry to save money. If not, I can rent from that exotics place. I heard they will rent a bike for about $200/ day?

Wow, nice find! Perfect for my lady friends who want to try riding! Wonder if anyone's doing that with a lowered 250 =)

My bike's signals (both front and rear) are not visible, and even though I used them they marked me down for not using them, so if you used my bike, you'd have to use hand signals. And if you drop it, please do it on the left.

Yea it says there is a $200 deposit incase you drop it and that will not be refunded...

Hahaha these guys are full of dog crap! $200 deposit in case you drop the bike but if you dont drop it you dont get your deposit back anyways?! If thats the case I think I might accidently drop it in my last 15 mins of riding, also whats that about extra fees for riding north of 407 highway and west of 427?

Is this legal? I mean he is offering insurance. But is it legit? Or is it just some piece of paper typed up on the computer?

Edit: Sushii beat me to it

I think that he meant that the deposit will not be returned in case you drop it.

No. You do not get it back regardless, everybody knows that you get a deposit back if you dont drop or damage something, these guys make it clear you will not be getting it back.

You pay a $200 deposit, if you drop it - they keep it
If you don't drop it - you get a $200 discount on your rental... so your right, you don't get it back.
