Getting back into riding...Need advice on $ 2007 gsxr 600?

Hello everyone, I've decided that its time for me to get back into riding after a year. I've decided on getting a 2007 gsxr600 (always liked the bike, and my insurance will be at $89 a month with full coverage).

Question here is: I've found a great looking bike with a few mods (fender eliminator, frame sliders, new Pirelli tires, solo seat cover, clear tank protector) - basically a dealer bike with warranty. Not a scratch on this thing, been taken care of very well.

We settled on $7500 after tax, registration, and all other fees. Bike has less than 18,000 Km's (left a deposit so I have a few days to decide.)

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

That's expensive bro...
Is there a condition on the sale?
If you put a deposit with no conditions, then legally you own the bike.
You can't cancel unless you decide to forfeit your deposit.

You can find them on Kijiji for cheaper, keep hunting if you're not locked in.

thanks for the reply!

$7500 includes all fees, taxes, lowering links and warranty. been searching on kijiji (around the 6k range) and autotrader is expensive around $8k :s. what should be a reasonable price including vehicle taxes?

i put a refundable deposit of $300 and have to make a decision by this saturday 5pm...

I guess that's the equivalent of buying a 2007 bike for $6600 privately and actually paying the full sales tax on it. So in that respect I think the price is reasonable. But if I were you I'd keep hunting for a private sale and save yourself almost a grand. If I were shelling out $7500 for an '07 GSXR I'd expect it to be pristine with lower kms. I paid $6500 for my '07 600RR with half the kms during summer.

I dunno, the K7 still has the stator/rectifier problem doesn't it? What's the "warranty" the dealer is giving you? On that problem alone I wouldn't buy a k6/k7 gixxer

I think it's a bit high, though taxes in makes it better. I've seen close to new gsxrs, 2-3 years old go for around 8k at s hows before.

I bought my K7 for $6k with fender eliminator, custom paint, solo seat cowl, camera mount but that was 2 years ago still. It's at about 36,000 km now and no problems with the stator/rectifier, nor did the previous owner (friend of mine, and original owner).

Took the advice - did not purchase the bike, got back my deposit, and will continue to search

two brand new tires, two stands, new brake pads front and rear still in box, new plugs still in box, new frame sliders, alarm system, and the bike looks like its still on the show room floor.

After riding my gsxr's all the time I had to say the bike felt gate and SO light. didnt have the same power feeling but got up to speed very fast and pulls wheelies very nice. Think it would be a better day to day bike

I wouldn't pay that for an 03 RR.
Especially with the conventional style forks.
I bought my 05 RR for cheaper than that.
Granted, it's a track bike, but still has a clean title and 5K Km's with some goodies.

But, if you're comparing a 600RR to a 91 GSX-R 750, of course the difference will be huge.

Deals are to be had if you're patient.

daily is a 96 srad 750 with 98 fueil injected 750 (with fuel injection) with full exhaust, re mapped ecu, steering damper and a few other things.

It's difficult to say what a good deal or bad deal is based on the year of the bike.

^^^^Some newer bikes advertised may have tires that are toast,****** brakes, etc.

Some older bikes may be very well maintained, will all brand new gear .

Without actually seeing the bike I don't think anybody can say what deal is good or bad(within reason)

and the conventional forks thing is just rediculous man, there more than good enough for a street ride

I agree and even on the track, people have been riding the hell out of theirs with conventional forks.
For me it's just a personal preference I suppose.

I hear ya,I prefer to have the best stuff available also, just sayin

You should be able to find the same bike with similar (or better considering that one just has some cheap mods) privately for $5500. Keep an eye on kijiji and not just GTA region. The rectifier issue isn't a big deal (I've had two K7 600's and no issues with either). A slip-on is a nice addition as the stock cat is heavy and restrictive.

went back to the dealer with $6k in hand. he took the offer. warranty for the full riding season starting april 1, lowering link and installation + discount on the next oil/filter change. $6k administration, licensing, and tax all in. i do believe i got a good deal. guess money does talk.

looking forward to riding safe with you all this season!
